He would look good in green.
Even with his 48, amazingly his team still lost. By 2.

Re: Trae Young had 48 today
Losing by 2 and scoring 48 might be a good reason not to draft this kid. 39 shots? only 8 assists? very inefficient, ball hog type end-of-game stats that no one likes
to see at any level of the game.
He can score against college guys, but will he project to doing any such type scoring in the NBA? He looks too slow to me, but his shot looks good against inferior defenders.
If the Cs have a chance to get any one of the five big guys at the top of the draft with the Lakers pick, I certainly hope that they do not take another small, one dimensional guard type player.

Not sold on him yet, 14-39 does not cut it for me.

He's shooting 45.3% on the season and for someone who takes a ton of threes that's pretty damn good.

If we draft him, where you gonna play him?

He's averaging nearly 10 assists per game. He plays point guard. Kyrie goes to shooting guard. Package Jaylen Brown and others for an Anthony Davis trade.

Young is going to go high in the draft and will probably be an excellent pro. And we don't need him unless others are traded.
What we do need is a young center, and a couple of players for the 8, 9, or 10 spot in the rotation, who can score a little and defend a lot.
I believe it looks pretty clear that guys like Davis and Cousins are not going to be available to anyone.
If we're going to be willing to trade assets, I think it will need to be to get in a high enough draft position to take Ayton (probable #1, so not likely), Bamba (maybe), or Bagley (will go higher than Bamba, but Bamba might end up a better fit).

Kyrie can’t defend the DeRozen’s and Harden’s, some team will take Young at a high position, don’t know if he can defend?

Re: Trae Young had 48 today
If Boston ends up at # 2 in the draft they may also have an opportunity to trade down. Some team out there has Steph Curry visions. Maybe Danny does a deal similar to what he did to get Jason Tatum.
Or maybe if they do draft him they do it because there is no pure PG on the team with respect to producing enough quality assists. One reason why the bench struggles on offense is because they do not have an above average PG running the show. Marcus is our primary BU PG and his free agency may be solved by drafting Young and letting him walk. That is a possibility although unlikely.
I cannot see where Boston would pass up an opportunity to finally add a high end big so that would be another reason. The perfect set up would be to end up at 2 (that's a long shot) and then trade down a few places for a big.

One thing Young will have to do is lower his turnovers per game rate of 9.5 in his last two games (12 and 7 - yikes).

I do not see Boston drafting Young if a quality big is on the board for them

Hopefully he plays really well up until the draft because it makes it more likely that some good big will be available when they hopefully pick in the top 5.

Physically he has to get a lot stronger and he will need to be more selective with his passing and shooting. He really has excellent passing skills but will need to be better at reducing his turnovers. He also tends to take a few too many Curry like 3 point shots.
Overall I think he will be an excellent prospect for a team looking for a point guard to develop.
