Leonard once again
Hi,
Here's once again suggestion about KL going Green.
I wonder what is really going on in SA? It seemed to be such a solid organization or, perhaps KL went total bonkers.
Whatever it is I hope Danny thinks long and hard before acquiring him.

Re: Leonard once again
I wouldn't even consider it until Kawhi comes back and shows he is the same player, both physically and mentally. There was just too much weirdness this year to give up so much for this guy.
Also, Kawhi might be better than either of the J's right now, but is really 40 million dollars better? I assume we would only give up one of the two J's, but still whomever we give up, their salary would probably be around 5X less than Kawhi's max. Kawhi is not 5X better than either J, and his production will certainly not be 5X better. Having near stars on rookie contracts is by far the best value in the NBA, as it allows management to fill out a complete team.

Hayward for Leonard straight up would be a steal for the Celtics.

Consider the Los Angeles Clippers one of the many teams keeping tabs on the situation. The Clippers are planning a trade package if Leonard ultimately becomes available, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. – via USA Today Sports
IF the Spurs trade him, know that most teams will ask at least what the cost is.

I don't care what is written about this subject, NO WAY would I make it. I think he is a head trip. Talented or not, a broken toy

I wouldn't be surprised if Ainge ends up trading for Kawhi.

Re: Leonard once again
I do not see Leonard as the missing piece as the NESN article suggests.
Why part with either the young J's? and picks too?
The missing piece is another big not another wing.
I would not go after him.

I agree.
If we needed a wing, sure, Leonard would be an excellent addition.
We need bigs. At least two.

Any suggestions ? - bearing in mind that it now appears that the 76ers are ready to present a formidable crew of bigs that are dominate in the paint. I know that Simmons is playing the point but his numbers say that he is very talented in the paint. That Philly front court could turn out to be quite a handful around the basket. And then there's the Celtics with Brown, Tatum and Hayward lighting it up from the outside. Wow

Re: Leonard once again
Either draft a big or trade for one
Also given the $ Leonard makes the only logical trade piece would be one of our big 3. Money needs to reasonably match up.

I will take a healthy Celtics team over Philly every day of the week. As a matter of fact I think if we get into the second round we will beat them if Marcus is healthy.

Both Brown and Tatum are better than Leonard was at this point in his career.cowens/oldschool wrote:I wouldn’t do it
I believe both have tremendous upside. Leonard is a great player but he sure has missed a lot of games over his career.
64, 58, 66, 64, 72, 74 and 9. 407 games out of a possible 574 games or 70% regular season games.
I would not touch him with the broken end of a coke bottle

Very good point dboss, I had no idea Leonard has such a wussy injury history, because of his shutdown defensive ability, I always think of him as a rugged player....but that’s definitely not the case and another reason not to give up the franchise, the 2 J’s either one of them for Kawhi.

Re: Leonard once again
I agree, NO LEONARD. Let him stay in SA, because I find it hard to believe they will trade him unless they can get extreme talent in return, which means Tatum or Brown and draft picks, or Rozier. Forget it. I would rather watch these kids keep developing right here in Boston. Let Leonard and his "team"
fix the mess that is going on down there in Texas

No if Brown or Tatum involved. Maybe Smart S&T with picks?

Re: Leonard once again
Swish,
I have no specific suggestions or ideas, just "bigs."
Even if I did have any specific wish list, it may not be grounded in the reality of what the front office is thinking.
We have more wings than we need, and lots of picks too, so what's coming is obvious.
Looking at our front-court (PF and C), Horford is in the later part of his career. Baynes, Monroe and Morris may all be temporary, and Theis is promising. Tatum may or may not be a PF in the future, but looks very set at SF. Not much there. So, via draft, trade or both...bigs. A statement that makes me Capt. Obvious.
Regards
