I believe both have tremendous upside. Leonard is a great player but he sure has missed a lot of games over his career.
64, 58, 66, 64, 72, 74 and 9. 407 games out of a possible 574 games or 70% regular season games.
I would not touch him with the broken end of a coke bottle
Now that I've seen his playing history, I remain steadfast in my decision. NO!
I read an article about his injury. His tendon is the equivalent of a frayed rope which was not firmly attached at the end. Maybe the attachment at the end has somewhat healed, but he still has pain. That's why he is not playing.
He doesn't want to play until it is pain free. That may never happen. Many have said that he is a head case because he has been cleared by team doctors to play and he won't. He doesn't trust the team doctors opinion, which I totally understand.
The tendon is a ticking time bomb which I want no part of.

Re: Leonard once again
Perhaps with PRP therapy the tendon could regrow and reattach to the bone properly.
Perhaps Melania married Donald for his looks.
In either case, I'm not betting on it.

Let someone else give up the sun the moon and the stars for him. I would rather watch our young guys become superstars right here and blow everyone off the court.
Just think about what we will have next year!!!!

2 great young wings > 1 great youngish wing with a questionable injury history.

a bunch of wings and Horford and Morris as bigs, perhaps.
as NYCelt says we NEED a big man (maybe we can ride with Baynes or Monroe one more year though).

Re: Leonard once again
The more I read about Leonard, the more I think the naysaying festival surrounding him is just another case of overblown hyperbole. It seems to come from all the usual sources, including press and fans of other teams with a taste for schadenfreude. There appears to be some uncertainty over why or to what extent the team medical staff has cleared him. His own medical staff says it's too soon, so it's not an attitude issue, but rather a decision on what's best for his long-term career. While I think he's not a likely target for the Celtics, he's just 26 and among the top players in the league. He probably returns next year with all the noise gone and picks it right back up. The league needs a few more with his talent. I hope he comes back strong.

Re: Leonard once again
I would find it hard to believe that he has an attitude problem, he has been a good soldier for the Spurs, improving his game yearly. I think it is a case of trust. He did come back, but ended up in pain, so the natural thing is to go to the people you trust the most. Pop sounds totally overcome by all of this. He is gone for the season, so this is two playoffs he has missed. If they do try to trade him, which I find unbelievable unless he asks out like Kyrie, the Spurs will welcome him back. He has said he wants to retire there.

Jalen Rose is the one who started the rumor
This morning he said he would not trade either Brown or Tatum to get Leonard. I agree with him.
