KD Likely to leave GSW
The Celtics came really close to signing KD as a free agent.
Should they attempt to pursue him during the off season?

That's up to DA and the bean counters! That would be nice, though! What kind of package would work? Or would BOS just have to make room under the cap by dumping players?

If someone could explain to me how the numbers could work I'd love to hear it.

We wouldn't be able to sign him as a free agent. Sign and trade, possibly a third team involved?

Re: KD Likely to leave GSW
Is there an NBA Trades Site for Idiots? About the only thing I understand is that the monies need to just about match up. After that, it all gets very hazy as to which scenario(s) work the best and how they get to a deal.

It would be very complicated. KD has a $31.5 million player option. GSW would have to agree to a sign and trade and KD would have to want to come to Boston.
GSW incentive would be obvious. Do you just let KD walk or do you get something in return?
They would want Jason Tatum, Terry Rozier, plus, but the numbers will not work even if Rozier becomes a sign and trade to get his salary up. The only way to make the numbers work would be to include either Hayward or Horford in the deal. They have Curry so KI is not in the mix. Horford has a player option as well so he can effectively block the trade. Hayward is under contract and his salary would match up. That trade with Hayward does not work today if you use the trade machine. I am not sure why.
Anyways I really do not see this happening and I am only mentioning it because Danny was very interested in adding him along with Al in 2016. If I recall Boston was the runnerup to GSW

I think the Lakers are the team up Next for KD.
KD and LJ together will be fun to watch.
They can sign KD and still retain their top young guys.

So was this the plan all the time? This KD story is a bit fishy to me. Of course Green could get under anyone's skin. Think GSW would dump him and offer KD the moon???
Last night the idiot brains on Comcast were drooling all over a Green trade. Al Horford for Green (and who ever else GSW would want. Sorry, he is terrific, but not my kind of player. His mouth would drive me nuts. And, this is all because of Kyrie making that statement about wanting a 15 year veteran on the team. ?????? what was he getting at? Last year they were drooling over Al for what he did to help the young guys, now this year, he is not mouthy enough? Could it be he is stepping back because Kyrie wants to be the "man"?
KD will end up in NY or Washington. That is my prediction, only if they cannot convince him to stay in Golden State

Rosalie my game feed on NBA TEAM Pass was the Celtics feed but during breaks and halftime it resembles an actual live game. I see all the halftime shows, etc. So I did not hear any idiot comments about Green for Horford. What idiot suggested that?
I think KD stays at GS if GS assured him that Green will not be on the team. They probably cannot afford to sign both of them and also keep Klay. Green getting the suspension is a clear indication that he may have lit the fuse for his departure.
I do not see KD going to the Wizards with their Wall/Beal drama and the Knicks remain a distance away from contention even with adding Durant.
Butler is likely to stay in Philly unless he wears out his welcome in 70 games and Paul George choose to stay in OKC. The only high profile free agent left will be Durant and LAL has the best chance to get him in my opinion.
I do not really see Boston in the mix. I think that train left the station on a oneway trip. Besides we still have a lot of first rounders that could secure yet another young stud.

Idiot Tanquay and Chris Gasper, who I cannot stand. He wrote for the Boston Globe at one time, then found radio and television and thinks he is now a sports genius. He said he would jump at that trade and of
Course Tanquay jumped on the wagon. I am trying to remember if Blakey was there at the time. I got so disgusted, I shut them off.
I am telling you, living here in Boston, you hear so many of these guys jump on and off the bandwagon of both the Celtics and the Patriots. Of course, during the summer, it was the Red Sox. It gets to the point that I just shut them off

Pretty Bizarre
It is pretty shameful that any so called sports reporter in Boston could be that dumb.

Re: KD Likely to leave GSW
if Green keeps it up he may be traded soon.
They would prefer to keep both KD and Thompson , which leaves Green as the overpaid trouble maker on the outs.

I figure the Lakers and Knicks would be out of the running, as they both would like to pursue KD as a FA.

Re: KD Likely to leave GSW
Dboss. If you can pull up Bill Simmons current postings, seems this is where the rumor started. He had Green and Livingston coming to Boston, Al and Terry going out west to GSW.
I WILL TAKE A NO THANK YOU HELPING ON THAT. I DO NOT LIKE GREEN.
I have read a couple of times. That GSW would love to get Terry. To me, Terry may be glad to go to the current champs, but, how much time would he get? This whole thing is someone stirring a pot to make up a story on a dead day

Re: KD Likely to leave GSW
Be it by FA signing or trade, there's always a way to make it work out if you want a player bad enough, and the parties are willing to deal.
The price to get KD would be high in players and cash.
The question for a team like Boston is this; would it be worth the price needed to get just KD here?
My guess is probably not.

Re: KD Likely to leave GSW
I really don;t see KD being traded by GS ( or some type of sign and trade).
He can be a UFA and go where he wants , rumors I have read are LAkers and Knicks both having his interest.
when Danny signed Hayward, any chance of getting another MAX player was gone.
that said:
IF GS would be so stupid to want to move KD now (and keep the idiot GReen?) then I would be happy to offer them Hayward and our first next year along with an option on the kings pick IF KD signed a mutli year extention here.
yes..I'd be HAPPY to steal him from them.

Re: KD Likely to leave GSW
GSW will not trade KD during the season. That seems like a move of desperation. But when he opts out of his contract and becomes an UFA that could change. For example they stand to lose him for nothing. If he wanted to go to a team that does not have the CAP space to sign him as a FA, GSW may see that as an opportunity to get back something in return.
The worse case for them is if he wants to go to a team that has the CAP space to sign him. The Knicks are still living in an alternative universe. They will have the CAP space to sign a highend free agent but they are not a destination for a player that is looking to win anytime soon.
I hate to say it but LAL look like a viable destination. Magic has all those one year deals that will expire next year and he has LJ on board for 3 more years.

I would agree about the Lakers...but hey, maybe KD pulls a Butler!

I do not see him going the Butler route. If he did GSW would not trade him to an team in the West and that would open the door for Danny to work his magic.

I expect the dust up to blow over and I expect GSW to be right there at the end. After the season KD will stay if Green is gone. That is unless there are other reasons why he wants to leave.

Re: KD Likely to leave GSW
Green still is under contract for one year after this year.
I really do not think KD will resign with GSW since Green will still be on the team. I do not think their relationship is fixable. Green was interviewed after the game last night and said nothing to begin the healing process.
How about admitting you are an asshole and apologize to Durant. It would need to be a public apology.

I can't stand the thought of him in LA. I would love to figure out a way to get him in green as long as we can keep Irving and Tatum and not give up the house.
