Re: Trade Rumors
Stupid move by Mavs, why would they get rid of Barnes for 2 players that one is on a downward spiral the other hasn’t done anything in this league. What is their reasoning...???

Salary dump for next year so they can go all in with Porzingis.

Re: Trade Rumors
Nice move by Sacramento to get an 18 ppg starting SF for basically nothing.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Enes Kanter is signed by Sacramento if and when he is released by the Knicks. If Kanter is not traded by the trade deadline.

They couldn’t keep all 3? They are all in on a Big 2 and don’t want a Big 3?

dammit.....just made or Kings pick worst!
Dannys draft stash for this year has been deteriorating fast now, first Memphis decides to tank and that pick will move into a future year.... the Clippers pick may not convey this year either (unless they make a deal for AD today) and the Kings have a good shot at making the playoffs now with Barnes.
so those draft assets for this coming year are likely to to end up being a pick around 15-18 and one near the end of the first round.
in other words, two rookies not likely to help much next season, when we are trying to fill out a rotation if Morris and Rozir both leave.

Re: Trade Rumors
Harrison Barnes was having his worst season for the Mavs. Shooting 40% from the field for $24 Million per. The Mavs were ready to part ways with him and really don't need him. They aren't tanking but they are building for the future. They have played hard all year. I don't think the Kings needed him but were just making a trade. I still remember his last season with GS.

The Kings players were told they were traded in the middle of a game. Halftime, I believe. They said goodbye to their Sacto teammates in the locker room at halftime and left to get on a plane to Dallas. Can you imagine that? This is completely freaking nuts.
It's a couple of things: it's the players deciding they are going to play with who they want to play with. We've seen LeBron do it in Miami and Cleveland, we've seen it in GSW with KD going there because he was friends with Draymond Green. There are the rumors about KD, Davis and Kyrie in NY. These rich mega-millionaire players and billionaire owners are all about themselves.

Re: Trade Rumors
HEY BOB,
SILVER BETTER GET CONTROL OF THE INMATE PLAYERS AND OWNERS WHO ARE TARNISHING THE NBA BRAND.
THIS IS A JOKE! NO THOUGHT OR SKILL INTO DEVELOPING YOUNG TALENT AND ADD TRADES TO BUILD A GOOD TEAM.
JUST THROW MONEY AT IT AND HAVE PLAYERS CHOOSE TO STACK TEAMS LIKE PARK/GYM PICK UP BALL WHERE YOU CHOOSE WHO YOU WANT ON YOUR TEAM SO YOU CAN PLAY THE WHOLE DAY WITHOUT BEING DEFEATED.
GETTING TIRED OF THE NBA BRAND...RATHER WATCH COLLAGE HOOPS.

Re: Trade Rumors
This looks like another salary dump.
They still need a 3rd good player. I think they resign Porzingas and also try to sign a FA.
The Kings acquire a 26 year old wing player. He has a low FG% this year as Tardust pointed out but was still the Mavs best shooter from deep at .389. on 6.3 attempts. He is an upgrade to a Kings' roster that just keeps getting better.

He is shooting the three good this year. He is a even better person that I hear everyone likes. He should be a good addition as a veteran over these young guys. He can show them a ring also. I agree it was a salary dump for Dallas. They have superstars now and should make a good leap next year. I wouldn't be surprised if Dirk showed up to come off the bench next year. He can still get his shot off and hit threes.

Re: Trade Rumors
Dallas is still in a rebuilding mode. Doncic and Porzingas give them 2 really good players but they still need add more talent and that is going to take a few years. They have CAP space to perhaps land a 2nd tier free agent. But all of the elite 1st tier players like Durant, Irving, Leonard and Thompson are not likely to go their.
Cousins could be a target for them particularly if he continues to play well this year (pretty impressive recovery) I do not see a pathway for him to resign with GSW.

Rumor has it that Boston was interested before he signed with GSW.
Before he got injured he was going to get a huge payday. Now he is just trying to work himself back. I do not see him in Boston. He will get overpaid by some team but not Boston.
Worcester are you thinking that Boston reunites Boogie and AD?

Re: Trade Rumors
No I was not, but that is an interesting thought...if you are a multi-billionaire owner.
Re: Trade Rumors
"League sources don't expect the Celtics to move point guard Terry Rozier, who will be a restricted free agent this offseason," O'Connor wrote Wednesday.
O'Connor then explained why Rozier is a valuable asset to Boston on two levels.
"Unless Boston is blown away, Rozier is viewed as insurance in case Kyrie Irving leaves, or as a potential sign-and-trade sweetener in a move for Anthony Davis"

I'm a big Avery fan, but this sounds like a steal for the Clips.

The Clippers wanted to get out from under Avery's $2m guarantee for next year.
Green and Temple have expiring contracts.
