my updated draft player rankings
I used draftnet, draft room and BB insiders most recent 2 round mock drafts and combined/averaged them for this list.
to make this list a player must be on at least TWO of the mocks
this is NOT a mock draft, just a combined ranking of there they are mocked at this point in time:

Re: my updated draft player rankings
kdp,
Nice work and thanks.
I have often wondered, however, how a guy could drop or raise his ranking/rating so much in only a month's time when he has not even played a second in any evaluation possible situation?
Example: Bol Bol (by the way, great originality by his parents) from 11 to 20, and he is supposedly recovering from his foot issues of last season.
Nice work and thanks.

Often it’s the public catching up to information known by teams and getting a better understanding of how teams view players.

Wide,
With you on this one. I'm amused every year by the rise and fall of players after their season ends. Funnier still is the big change after what amount to solo workouts and interviews.
Some rise up the board, purely on performance in the big tourney, after doing little during the season. Some even rise on tourney results, even after not being on the radar in conference tourneys.
If the polls had anything to do with thinking from actual NBA execs, they would look quite different.
Either way, I agree there is some nice annual work tracking and compiling this by kdp.
Regards

Re: my updated draft player rankings
always interesting to see the movement for sure each year.
I think you guys hit on it, individual workouts for teams and interviews along with the combine all work to move players some.
but remember this is ONLY MOCK DRAFTS....not a ranking of players overall.
I used to do one of those also, but found them to be somewhat of lesser value than using mock drafts.
I assume hoopshype will update their aggregate mocks before draft day also.
Kinda the same thing as this except they use more mocks.
I have a hard time finding a third two round mock as it is myself.

Re: my updated draft player rankings
The big unknow that is not reflected in the draft rankings is team needs given where they are picking. For example, the PG Darius Garland is sitting at # 4 and NOLA has that pick but NOLA does not need a PG so he may not be picked there unless some team wants him and trades up to 4 specifically to draft him. Or a team (NOLA)could use the 4th pick and take someone else like Culver.
Team needs always impacts where a player is drafted. That opens the door for a team to be able to draft a guy that may be rated above their draft position.

exactly!!
this is NOT a mock draft at all, just an average of where three mocks select players.
more or less a gauge of what range those mocks feel players should fall, is the way I look at this.
BTW, Jrue Holiday could play SG or PG like he did with Rondo a couple years ago. So I wouldn't be surprised if they took Garland at #4 or TRADED that pick!

Re: my updated draft player rankings
There are also the impacts of supposed promises to players and them shutting down workouts.
Samanic shutting down after Day 1 of the combine. Supposedly, White by the Bulls, Hachimura by the Wolves, Claxton by the Hawks, Thybulle by the 76ers

20. Kabengele or Fernando
22. Porter or Jerome
