No offense but what MIL did to the Knicks last night was kinda close to what we should expect from our boys once hell freezes over and there are no more injuries to our key players.

20 point victory would have been fine.

Notice the "Diff" column (above in a previous post on Page 1).  It stands for point differential.

In the East, the top teams pretty much line up in order, largest differential to smallest.

In the West, it doesn't line up so well.  Denver sticks out like a sore thumb.  I believe they will move down in the standings, maybe out of the top three or four teams in the West.

We are 5th in PA. Our Offense will improve when GH returns.

As long as DEN decapitates LAL tonight, worcester, their point differential can stay whack out west!

Looks like in the East the next two days, it's a severe battle for 2nd. Heat probably aren't going to lose twice but it is a B2B for them. Wow, that really sucks! (Insert sarcasm here).. Looks like we'll be drawing the short straw with MS in flux or out for the game.

Yes however nothing jacks up chemistry more than a continuous, tag-your-it stream of front-line injuries.  He does need a break although he probably thinks he's good to go tomorrow night.

P.S. I do think Wanamaker has firmly established himself coming off the bench. Now it's on to firmly establishing #2 off the bench. Everybody's going to get plenty of time to prove themselves with all the front line holes. Step on it!

Six legit teams in the East.  When Pacers get VO back they are as good as anyone in the East.

This is setting up as a grueling season.  Injuries can kill a team's chemistry.

Without MS and GH the Celtics are average.  So I think they will start dropping games until those guys get back.  We do not have replacements for those guys.  Expect to see Tatum and Brown play extended minutes.

Our rookies have been disappointing.  Romeo walks around with a 'fragile handle with care sign' CE  must be paired with a bigger guard and GW cannot rebound or score that well.  The brightest light in the rotation has been Brad Wannamaker who will see more minutes with Marcus out.

I do like Waters because he has the ability to run an offense.

The good thing is that we have a ton of games remaining to put it all together.  Looks to me like 25 games is not enough time.  Now I think at least 40 will be needed to be able to evaluate and determine contender or pretender.

Yes I love guys that can score, rebound and defend.  The stats associated with that however do not tell the whole story.  Fit is perhaps a bigger factor.

Lets's use Grant Williams as a prime example.  

He is only averaging 2.2 PPG and 2.2 rebounds.  He #15 on the team in scoring and tied for 10th in rebounding.  Those are scrub level numbers.  He is shooting 25.9% from the field and 0% from deep on 21 attempts.

But on this team his true value can best be reflected in his advanced numbers on offense and defense.  Net ratings are another imperfect statistic when a player does not log a lot of minutes but they are one indicator of value when a particular player is on the court.

Grant is 105.0 on offense and 95.7 on defense for a net rating of +9.7.  Again this is not a perfect measurement but it does support his utilization on this team in spite of his eye sore stats.

Agreed, but doesn't it reach a point where we have to draw a line in the sand and say this is what we got and go with it? We got about a 3 game taste of a fully operation Death Star before the wheels came off. What if at 40 games, heaven forbid, one or both of the J&J boys goes down? The season becomes one of just (re)shuffling lineups in hopes of timing it all perfectly for the playoffs. Then there's no chemistry to speak of as by G82, all our guys are finally back and get swept by IND or whoever in the first round.

I'm just a little fed up with our injuries to key players constantly leading the NBA while those teams in our neighborhood just keep rolling right along untouched. WTH, Bo?!!

Also, dboss, I think the #2 off the bench would probably have to be Kanter when Brad plays him. He is/can be a consistent DD threat. But I need a little more time/data to give him that title. Plenty of room for others to step up to the plate.

Really, until this year, he hasn’t done much. He does have 3 potential very good competitive wings in Butler, Winslow and Hero this year. I wouldn’t take anyone of them over our 3, but Butler and Winslow will get after it defensively and Hero has a lot of offensive potential.

Pat Reilly won 5 titles in LA or is my math wrong? Then he took a moribund Kn ick franchise to the NBA finals. Then he won some NBA titles in Miami. More than Danny has done I might add. He hasn't done much?

I meant recently, he should thank Wade for signing/befriending Lebron, just like I like to thank Kevin McHale everyday for steering KG to us....

It has taken Reilly less time to rebuild from a championshio team than Danny. But then neither have won another NBA championship yet, and I do think the Celts are now better and will be better for a while than the Heat, thanks to Trader Danny.
