Re: Boston Celtics 2020 Daily Sports Calendar
keep them coming Gyso!! How are you and Janie doing down there? Maine is closed up tighter than a drum, closed all hotels, inn, whereever rentals can be made right now. This keeps up, it will kill them, We were booked for a week in July right on the water at York, have been renting there for a few years. It is beautiful, right at Nubble Light. The wonan who now owns the house since her Dad died, is a doctor from California. She sold off most of his property but kept Maine because she had strong memories there and it was one of her Dad's favorite spots. He was a NY firefighter.
Who knows now what will happen to all these vacation spots. It is so sad. We were even considering taking it for two weeks because Bill loves it up there and so do my kids. Me? It is beautiful, but I am a Cape Cod girl. I won't go near the Cape this year though.
Anyway, hope all is well with you and the family. Did your daughter get her house back together after the storms that hit them? Hope so. Take care.

Rosalie,
Thanks for the kind words. The tornado that my daughter experienced seems like a lifetime ago. We're all doing well, but we miss our family, especially our grandkids. We use facetime and some other video chat platforms, but those are weak substitutes for the real thing.
We did get to see them last Sunday morning. Three of our daughters (the local ones) and their families drove past our house multiple times, honking their horns and shouting, "Happy Birthday!!". It was a birthday parade for Janie. They then parked and came onto our property to sing "The Song". We were able to spend 10-15 minutes with them, talking about this and that, before they had to leave.
Then we went back to our own version of Groundhog Day.
Take care and stay safe.

Re: Boston Celtics 2020 Daily Sports Calendar
It is funny how many people have forgotten just how good Parish was. He would be a superstar in today's NBA, no doubt. Quiet yet very, very devoted to the teams he played for. It is rather sad that he has tried many times to get a job in basketball and is unable to. I know he was ticked when Danny did not hire him.
He was one heck of a basketball player, and there would probably have been no titles without him.

Bonus Trivia Question:
There were 16 years between the first and last championship that Robert Parish got a ring for. What other player had a larger span of years between their first and last championship?

I know Duncan won titles in 3 different decades...could be him.
Jabbar got one early with Milwaukee, '71 or so, I believe, before going to LA. He retired not long after winning one. When, '88 or '89?...could be him.
Got to be one of those two; got to both have a 16 or 17 year span.
Only way to decide without looking it up is a coin flip. Heads it's Duncan, Tails it's Jabbar.
George's head is up. Duncan.

NYCelt,
Duncan's span between first and last championships was 15 years. 1999 - 2014.
Flip again. 2 out of 3?

Rosalie,
Correct.
You took the point away from NYCelt.
Thanks for playing.
Edit: I forgot to say, Jabbar's span went from 1971 - 1988. 17 years.

I'm blaming the quarter I flipped. It's just not worth as much as it once was...
