Pervis Ellison. I completely forgot about that one. I remember going to a game back in the Pitino days, and there was Pervis. In a suit, on the bench. As usual.

Danny was right with his play on Pervis' nickname. Danny used to call him "Out of Service." Poor guy. What might have been. He had all the tools to be a great one. His knees and a few other body parts had other ideas.

At one point in the late 90's we had Pervis Ellison and Popeye Jones sitting there on the bench. Side by side, in street clothes. What at one time would have been considered a potentially dominant NBA front-court, that never was. But oh man, they were both incredible to watch during their college careers! (Neither was a one-and-done.)

Bonus Trivia Question:

With a minimum of 500 games played for the Celtics as a baseline, Paul Pierce comes in 7th on the leader board for Boston Celtics leaders in career free throw percentage.
