It never hurts to add KG, Ray, Posey, House, Brown, Davis and Cassell. Compared to the '06 -'07 team, they should have won 42 more! Glad they did it, that previous group was depressing to watch.

The day they signed PJ Brown I was thrilled. I had been a big fan of his for a long time and always wanted to see him in green. They made my day that day. But the same holds true for Ray Allen, I had been a big fan of his for years.

I guess over the years there are certain players that true Boston fans could figure into a Celtics uniform. Paul Silas was one I loved. Red had a way of finding guys on their way out who could contribute one or two years and make the team better.

This is how I have felt about Thadddus Young, always, always loved his game.

Just a thing I think about when watching other teams.

It's amazing how much a team can improve when they becme a top notch effective shooting team and and a super effective team at holding down the opponets effective shooting percentages. In 2007 08 the Celtics ranked 5th offensively in efg and 1st in defensive efg - in 2006-07 they were 28th in offensive efg and 20th in defensive efg.
Without question, efg is by far the Number 1 stat when it comes to pointing out the litgitimate contenders in a season.

Bonus Trivia Question:

The trade for Rajon Rondo was much more complicated than what is suggested in the calendar page. The 2006 21st pick actually belonged to the Lakers. Other participants in the trade were the Suns, Hawks and the Celtics. It hurts my head just trying to follow all the moving parts on the draft pick transaction page.

Some of the other players listed as moving parts in that trade included:

• Chucky Atkins
• Jumaine Jones (changed from Marcus Banks on 2004-08-13)
• Gary Payton
• Rick Fox
• Antoine Walker
• Tom Gugliotta
• Michael Stewart

1. Originally came from the Cavs (I believe)
2. Was lottery protected in 2006
3. Was top 3 protected in 2007
4. Was finally used by the Suns in 2008

To the best of my guesswork, that is where the clues took me.

It was a very complex draft pick transaction page entry.  Some of the "trades" started taking place in 2005, especially with some of the draft picks.  Traded draft picks with lottery protections can be traded multiple times over their life.  I think that is why there were so many players listed as part of the trade for the Rondo draft pick. Some or many of them were traded earlier than 2006.
