One for three. Keep trying.
It has to be a player who played after the 1957-58 season.

Satch Sanders
Cow obviously guessed the first two before me.
One out of three.
Two down, one to go.

No partial credit. (Precedent has been set.) First to list all three players in a post wins the point.

Football by the Cleveland Browns. (Really don’t deserve a point for this one.)

Did you have to Google it?
BTW, I knew it was football. I wasn't sure what team, but I suspected it was the Browns.

No google, just knew he was the last player cut by the Browns and I believe the Browns kept a young HOF receiver over Hondo.

BobC33, some guy named Paul Warfield, pretty sure you've heard of him.

Remember him well. No shame in losing out to him, but wow how close we were to Hondo never playing in the NBA!

Re: Boston Celtics 2020 Daily Sports Calendar
Bobcc33, my apologies. I answered by repeating an oft told tale, that Hondo was cut in favor of Warfield. Actually Hondo went to camp with the Browns in 1962, Warfield's first year was 1964. Jim Brown, Gene Hickerson, Lou Groza, Mike McCormick, and of course Coach Paul Brown are all HoF'ers but none were Wide Receivers.
But as an aside, John was also offered deals by the Yankees, Pirates, and Tigers to play MLB. He would have to be on the short list of greatest all around athlete in NBA history.
