112288,
Yes. Even though he had a horrible batting average, it was better than Jordan's.
Went to a game in Toronto when he played. Pretty good defensive 3B even if not a big stick. Clemens was pitching that day. Managed to work my way down behind the screen for an inning. The movement on Clemens’ stuff was amazing. Had that little rise on his fastball at incredible velocity.

Okay, who here (besides perhaps Swish) has ever heard of Ed Sadowski?
I almost covered his name and made it a trivia question.

dboss,
Close. The Celtics have won 22 Atlantic Division championships.
Thanks for playing.

Re: Boston Celtics 2020 Daily Sports Calendar
Interesting question...so the real question is ....when did he retire because he was a first time HOF'er so if I can figure out which year he retired it is five years after that! He was not here for Bird, so it has to be '78 or 79. My guess is that he retired in 78, went into the HOF in '83
Now, lets see how the old mind works

Rosalie,
Dave Cowens retired from the Celtics after the 1979-80 season, but he unretired (again):
Cowens retired following the 1979-80 season, but not even that second retirement was permanent. After two years away from the NBA, Cowens returned for one last gasp in the 1982-83 season when friend and former teammate Don Nelson asked the 34 year old to play for his Milwaukee Bucks. Cowens obliged, appearing in 40 regular-season and nine playoff games, including four postseason contests against his former team. The Bucks swept the Celtics in four games in the Eastern Conference semifinals before being eliminated by the Philadelphia 76ers in the conference finals. For the season, Cowens averaged 8.1 points and 6.9 rebounds in 25.4 minutes per game.
I won't supply the link to the above article because it will give away the answer to the trivia question. Also, there were more than 5 years between his last retirement and his induction to the hall of fame. Why, I cannot answer. Maybe it took a few years before he got in due to basketball HOF Celtics overload?

Re: Boston Celtics 2020 Daily Sports Calendar
you know, I forgot all about that, I wonder if part of his thinking on returning was that he had not done 10 years service, isn't that when the full pension kicks in for players. I remember now that he did play for Nelson, Cousy did the same thing, going to another team after he retired. If I remember, there was a bit of contention over that and Red ended up getting something in return. I can remember that the Celtics gave Cowens a motorcycle for his retirement gift. Back then guys were given pretty good retirement gifts, I believe they built Sam Jones a house in NC, Havlicek got a Jeep. Crazy the stuff you remember. Today, these guys have deals with all these companies so gifts are something like a gold watch or something like that. I can remember recently watching a podcast of Cedric Maxwell and he was joking how all he got at his retirement was a watch, but he still had it!!!
So I will take a wild guess, and say 90
