Drummond being moved?
The Detroit Pistons are escalating discussions with several teams about a trade involving All-Star center Andre Drummond, including serious recent talks with the Atlanta Hawks, league sources told ESPN. – via ESPN
rumors I read made it sound like a trade to Atlanta was all but done.

Re: Drummond being moved?
Drummond is still young and is playing his best ball this season, but without completely disrupting the core of this year's team he seems to be unobtainable without a third or even a fourth team getting involved.
His history shows that he is likely never going to become a three point shooter, but he does many other things very well.
If nothing else, I am sure that Ainge will look around every corner and under every rock to possibly improve the Cs as he always does.

Re: Drummond being moved?
Atlanta has expiring contracts and the Nets pick to make a deal happen
Rumor has it that both Dallas and Toronto may be interested
If you put him in a 1-5 pick and roll with young or Doncic or even Lowry it would be hard to defend
The Celtics were also mentioned. In other news the Celtics remain as one of only 3 teams with single digit losses.

That's wild. We've played less games, but it is quite an accomplishment for this team.
Plus we are in the top 3-4 teams in point differential.
And this year's team was supposed to be less than last year's team?

Re: Drummond being moved?
This years team actually plays together, shares the ball, last years team had way too many egos. Getting rid of Kyrie, Morris and Rozier has been a blessing....!!!

Re: Drummond being moved?
The rumors of Drummond to Atlanta make little sense.
Atlanta is the worst team in the NBA.
How much interest will Drummond have to stay in Atlanta even if they offer him a max contract?
What would Atlanta give up for a rental?
A better fit to me would be for Dallas to trade Courtney Lee (expiring), Powell, Brunson and a 1st round pick for Drummond.

Re: Drummond being moved?
sure, that sounds good, but as good as Drummond is, he is a dinosaur in today's NBA. I wouldn't give up too much for him. I do not believe any rumor that has the Celtics involved. That would require them giving up Hayward because of contract size. That is not happening. With our young, mobile lineup, Drummond just doesn't fit. keep him....not interested

Just because the Hawks are a bad team that has nothing to do with fit. But if you want to play GM which first rounder would Detroit want. The Nets pick or the Dallas pick?
I think he would be a better fit playing with those young wings on the Hawks.
Detroit however may prefer to trade him outside of the EC
The most important thing for me is that he NOT end up on the Celtics for Hayward

I didn’t say Drummond would be a bad fit with Atlanta.
The question is would Drummond want to play with Atlanta after this season?
He has had a career full of losing with Detroit.
I would understand him wanting to play for Dallas or another team who will be playoff bound this season and every foreseeable season.
We don’t know if Atlanta will give up Brooklyn’s 1st round pick when there’s a high chance that Drummond leaves Atlanta after this season.

Re: Drummond being moved?
There is no guarantee for anything TJ but we should not assume the Hawks will not get a lot better. They have as much young talent as any team. They have CAP space and they have draft assets. One or two moves could turn them into a playoff team. Drummond would get more scoring opportunites with the Hawks.

Re: Drummond being moved?
I wasn't implying that the Celtics should get into the mix fro Drummond. Just noting that he might be moved soon.
he does not seem a good fit for what Brad wants as a big anyhow.
Love and Blake are both supposedly on the block too, but I would pass on them too, even though they are both better fits for Stevens.

There’s no guarantee Atlanta will become a playoff team, much less a title contender.
What about Drummond to Toronto?
Gasol, Onunoby and Toronto’s 2020 1st round pick might be enough to pry Drummond from Detroit.
Since Drummond has been in the league, Detroit has been over .500 one time.
If I was Drummond I would want to possibly go deep in the playoffs this year, then make the decision after the season about who to sign with next year.

Re: Drummond being moved?
TJ if I was Toronto I would not trade OG
I think Dallas needs to add a two way wing and a defensive minded center who can also rebound.
The Hawks need a big guy. They drafted 2 wings this year .
Detroit is looking to go in a new direction but they will not get a big haul for Drummond

If I was Toronto I would definitely give up OG for the best rebounder in the league.
Mark Gasol is a salary throw in. His career is all but over.
Toronto, Dallas and Atlanta are all good fits on the court for Drummond.
Toronto and Dallas could make deep playoff runs this year with Drummond.
Atlanta will be looking forward to seeing how much their young players improve and for the lottery.
