Bird vs. Laimbeer
It is so easy being a Celtics fan. It's like saying I like ice cream. What's not to like? We have so many great memories to cherish and so many awesome players for whom to root.
Here's just a snippet of joy from our past. Another reason why I love Larry Bird.

Re: Bird vs. Laimbeer
Bill Laimbeer is one of the select few, possibly the only player, who if traded to the Celtics I would not have changed my mind about and declared him a pillar of the community.
Rick Mahorn, Rodman, Salley and untold other villains would have immediately, in my eyes, became wonderful human beings both on and off the court the moment they put on a Celtics uniform. My disdain for Laimbeer was so intense I doubt I could have felt likewise. He was dirty, sneaky, cocky and while he was a good outside shooter I never saw a player pass the ball as quickly as he did when the game was on the line because he was afraid of the big moment.
Ask me how I really feel about this creep.

I think Larry felt the same way and admitted it at one point.

Watching The Chief work out his Black Belt skills on Bills face was an all time favorite memory.

See Laimbeer, that piece of shit, stick his elbow in Parish’s throat first on that play. Laimbeer had it coming for years, douchebag....

Re: Bird vs. Laimbeer
He probably could be listed as one of the most hated players in NBA history, he was a cheap shot artist who wanted to hurt anyone who played better than him. I hated him

Re: Bird vs. Laimbeer
He would cheap shot foes on their way to the basket in vulnerable positions, then on offense all he would do is hang on the perimeter and shoot jumpers, total POS

Bad boy for sure - But I bet the Piston fans learned to live with it - as he only missed 5 games during the 1980's - while leading all centers in defensive rebounds with 8.5 per game.

Re: Bird vs. Laimbeer
Laimbeer was a competitor. Dirty, unfair,, and I don't like him, but he was a competitor. What a mistake he made sticking his elbow into Parish's throat. Epic failure.
