Close games and poor free throw shooting produces losing teams. Simmons is at 32.8% and the freak is around 52% but they're elite right...hmmm

I understand they have all around games, but Giannis cannot score at all 3 levels at all, neither can Simmons who is getting ripped by Philly press for disappearing literally in 4th quarters of tight games. I’ll keep my 2 J’s, thank you very much.

No idea, but Giannis has a lot of holes that I didn’t notice before, by end of game he will have a double double, but he can’t initiate the offense for sh.t and drives into traffic way too much, getting out of control. Simmons is afraid to touch the ball in a tight game, what a waste of height and ball handling skills.

MINI SNIPPET 76ers slow death
-Tobias couldn't look worse
-Joel is trying to look worse
-Ben is hiding behind a plant so no one sees him
-Doc hasn't checked his fantasy lineup since week 4
-let Maxey take every shot
-let Matisse defend every possession
-haven't breathed all game, i don't need the ascot to die

Doc did a masterful job of limiting Simmons at crunch time, and going offense and defense to pull it out. Simmons offensive game is pathetic for a max player, thank god he came thru with 4 points

Simmons used to drive to the hole full court on a regular basis. Not anymore. Did you see him last night? Every chance he had to go to the hole he pulled back and looked to pass it. He’s terrified of going to the line and shooting free throws. He’s been exposed. Good luck trying to trade him.

Too late for the Jazz to figure things out. Coach should have taken the DPOY off the court. His presence was useless. The Clips shot the ball like there was no tomorrow. And there was no tomorrow for one of those teams.
No outside shots by the freak and they get a big win again.
The Hawks are not firing on all cylinders. They need more guys to make more shots from deep.

Durant was pretty funny last night , blaming his big foot for stepping inside the 3 point arc.
This was a very entertaining series. Never saw Giannis check KD all series. Injuries took their toll on the Nets and Bucks took advantage of it. Winning 4 out of 5 after going down 2-0 was quite an accomplishment. Meanwhile the Nets are already 2 years into KI and KD and have not advanced. How many years their window stays open is anybody's guess.

How nice that karma has worked its rightful place as Kyrie and Durant didn’t get what they wanted and justice prevailed. Again what superstar franchise player leads his team to a CF, loses than joins that historic team that just beat them to win….??? Biggest pussy move of all time, Kyrie another entitled problem child. Everyone I know was rooting for Bucks and I live in NJ/NY area.

Re: Playoff Observations
That might have been one of the best games I've seen in quite a while. BKN will whine that the Death Star was never fully operational. (Of course we're hung out to dry when we bring it up.)
MIL will stay intact. Coach Bud will not be leaving anytime soon regardless of what happens in the ECF. They have moved forward. What BKN will finally start to realize later this week after the fog has cleared is this season was their one and only shot. If you think this past season was full of injuries for BKN, wait until next season if they choose to hold on to the Big 3. Those 3 guys just got a year older and have started down the path of ongoing, nagging injuries until the sun sets on each of their respective careers. Harden will join the Bridesmaids. You could tell in his postgame interview that this runner up reality is beginning to sink in and will be his destiny. It won't get any better or closer than this for BKN. The way BKN ownership will react over the next couple of days will determine whether Sean Marks will be around come next season. If ownership falls back on all the injuries as their excuse and looks past that as an anomaly, they'll keep him. If they look at it as you had three of some of the greatest scorers in the game and did a crappy job of juggling and bungling them together and couldn't even make it out of the 2nd round, then he won't make it past Monday morning. The big gamble just didn't pay off. And figuring out a payroll next season with 3 guys hogging just about all the money leaving nothing for the peasants can be someone else's problem. Or just realize before it's too late that it's time to cut bait and run and start shipping these three prima donnas off to Sacramento, Charlotte, Minnesota, etc. where great players go to retire.
Someone better pat Chris Middleton on the back. Giannis and KD canceled each other out, but Middleton was the man in OT.
This is what you want to see. Teams finally making it over the hump. This season, we did not. We went backwards and as a result are now in a semi-rebuild (possibly full rebuild still TBD) from top to bottom. BKN, given the all-in moves by Marks from the past 2 seasons, clearly missed the mark by several rounds. (No pun intended) Much more drastic, tenuous scenario.
As always, we shall see.

We are not in a rebuild from top to bottom. We are one fine new PG away from smashing success.

great summary
$467 Million still owed to the big 3.
Owner and multi-billionaire Joseph Tsai can afford to pay a ginormous tax bill but will he?
Buying a championship takes more than Cash. Another year of pulled hammys, KI meltdowns and a general attitude of entitlement is likely to produce the same result.

Re: Playoff Observations
3 fgm, total, in OT.
Harden with 22, but 5-17. He was 10-10 from the line, as usual. I wonder how effective he will be if the league passes that rule about unnatural shooting motions not getting you to the line anymore (assuming the refs enforce it. They changed the rule about rip-throughs not being a shooting foul but they still blew them in games)?
As happy as I am that Milwaukee advanced and the smug Brooklyn Nets aren't I wouldn't be shoveling dirt on their Championship graves quite yet. LeBron, DWade and Bosh didn't win their Championship together in their first year together either, did they? They did win the next two after that. Harden will be 32, and doesn't need to carry his team anymore. Durant will be 33, but has completely come back from his Achilles injuries and, as we saw in this series and also against us, is still Durantula. Kyrie just turned 29. A fragile 29, true, but when he's not injured he hasn't lost anything. Another way to look at this series is that it took Kyrie, or Harden, to be out for almost every game of the series for the Bucks just to get it to 7.
Well, now it's on to humiliating the Sixers. I know that series isn't over yet, but I'm expecting the talent of the Sixers to prevail. If I'm wrong, and Atlanta wins, then the humiliation of the Sixers begins even sooner and this week would be starting off even better than I had hoped.
If the Sixers lose would Doc get fired? And would Brad hire him? Would we want him?

"LeBron, DWade and Bosh didn't win their Championship together in their first year together either, did they? They did win the next two after that."
That is true but let's not overlook that Miami went to 4 straight championship series while winning years 2 and 3. Plus when that trio came together they were younger than the trio in Brooklyn
DW 29, CB 26 and LJ 27
JH is 31 and Durant is 32 and Kyrie is 29
Injuries have kept them from playing together. KD and KI have been on the Nets for 2 years and they have not got a taste of even the ECF.
As they continue to age I expect more missed games.

I’m also expecting a huge jump from Romeo and Nesmith, obviously Moses and AH were incredible acquisitions, godsend. We don’t need a superstar point and we are still young enough with ascending pieces to have a great long run

I agree and also let me say that this thread that you started has been a lot of fun to participate in. A solid PG that can set the pace and make good decisions is the main things I want to see. I really do not think we need a high end scorer at the point, just someone who can keep the defense honest.
Near the tail end of the season, Romeo actually changed my mind a tad about what he can become. I think Boston can live with RL, PP and AN but someone else will need to be moved to open up more playing time.
If the Celtics offered EF a 2 year deal I would be okay with it. I think that long term deals for guys getting up there in age should be avoided unless they are top end talent. If Boston cannot find a starting quality PG Marcus will still be on the team for at least another year or traded next February if the team is floundering.
I think Brad will do more than a tweak or two. I expect to see a multi-team multi-player trade coming.

This thread has been fun because our board members really know the game, I can live without Frenchy, I’d rather develop the 2 younger than 2 J’s wings. Frenchy can be good against most middle of the road teams, but against playoff level competition teams he will hurt us for obvious reasons, he’s kind of like the opposite of Ben Simmons; those are not winning players, took Doc weeks to figure out to keep Simmons out during crunch time and only sub him in for defense and viola they won.

Cow, both Bob Heckler's dad and I were French teachers, and the term is voila. Otherwise your post is perfect! Frenchy should not be a long term high cost signing, and we need to develop our younger wings AN and RLand our nascent PG PP.. We still need to sign a good PG who can distribute, but we are thisclose to contending next season.
