Medical Report Empty Medical Report

Post by Sam Tue Oct 19, 2010 1:55 am

According to the Boston Globe, Doc had minor throat surgery on Sunday and missed yesterday's (Monday's) practice. He's not supposed to use his voice for a while, but there was no timing specified. The Globe also mentioned that Quis' injury problem is with a rotator cuff, but the article was also mum as far as implications go. Apparently Jermaine want full tilt at practice, acting coach Frank reported. Delonte is still not practicing with the team. I've never known of a hospital test for which results were unreported to a major basketball team for 5+ days. Guess we're all due for some more wait-and-see.

Sam,

I think the medical report shows why our depth will be especially valuable this season. With the leagues oldest roster and several players who are habitually frequent Band-Aid station visitors everyone is going to see a good amount of minutes on the floor.

Good to know we're even deep at coach!

dboss,

I agree. A lot of people would argue that Wafer would be better at the "3" than Lasme, but that surely wouldn't be the case on defense, which I believe would be Marquis' strongest contribution to this team. The "3" position wouldn't be the preferred position of either Lasme or Wafer offensively, so I'd take Lasme's defense and rebounding.

Would Lasme be able to overpower most 3s down low on offense?

It would also be interesting to see how well he would defend James.

Swede,

I think that, of all the Celtics, Lasme would come closest to possessing a blend of the physical attributes required to have a defensive chance against James: a combination of height, speed, agility, quickness, strength, and hops. Obviously there's far more to defense than physical attributes—most notably experience and knowhow. There's certainly no assurance how Lasme would fare defensively against Lebron; but I'd be willing to bet it would be a whole lot better than Wafer could manage.

Sam and Swede,
I don't get this part about Lasme vs LJ. What about PP and MD?
Thanks,

I am thinking mostly in case of foul trouble and also that PP wont/shouldnt match Lebrons minutes.

As for guading Bron think the consesus is to keep him from getting into the paint. Make him"settle" for the outside shot and don't foul him, if he should get inside. Lasme has enough quickness to perhaps keep the penetrations down yet is long enough to perhaps bother the outside shot somewhat.

Bottom line there is no good way for anyone to guard him but I would go with the length of Lasme over anything VonWafer has to offer on the defensive end.
