2022-2023 Celtics MPG and Total Minutes Projection
Here is a little spreadsheet I made. I hope it isn't too wide for this forum. I'll insert it using two different settings in case it cuts off the right side at the higher setting for some members.
I have projected each player's minutes per game (MPG) as well as their total minutes for the regular season.
I tried to balance the minutes per game vs. the total minutes and games played. That is a hard juggling act because no one player actually plays all 82 games. I know that there are only 48 minutes per game, so the result when adding each players MPG tends to be more than 48 per in the final tally. I randomly picked 60 as my cutoff number. It could be more, it could be less, I just did not want to spend the time researching for the typical average.
The important part is taking the player's MPG, projecting how many games they would play and coming up with a season total. I added the previous season as an example as to how the minutes were spread around before, with a goal of reducing the total minutes for some players.
There are a few other items I added, like their full names and their nicknames (found online).
I may tweak the spreadsheet after a couple of the TBD players are determined and maybe after I get some feedback.
Here it is:
1024 px width:
800 px width:
My comments: It came out a little smaller than I'd like. I'll mess with it, making some columns narrower, etc., in order to get the text to appear larger.

If you click on the body of the worksheet it links to the source.
Then just hit ctrl and the + sign to enlarge.
gyso you put a ton of work into this. A ton.
It will be very interesting to see how your projections match up with the upcoming season distribution of minutes played
Off the top of my head, the players that I think will be most impacted by our newly added depth will be all of our positions except for center.
With the addition of Brogdon the guy most likely to see less minutes is Pritchard. I expect that all of our PG's will play less minutes. Of the 4, I expect that Brogdon will be the main combo guard on the team.
I also expect Grant's minutes at the 4 to be less because Gallo is a stretch 4.
Last year we did not have a legit BU at SG (once Richardson was traded) With Brogdon capable of being productive off the ball at the 2 we may see more minutes at SF for JB.
Our center rotation may be impacted if Brad adds a center to the mix.
There seem to be endless combinations to consider and we really do not know how Ime will integrate the new guys into the mix.
