Re: Celtic Tidbits
I like that he took alot of time before he came back, if going forward he is a back up 25 mpg player that can put up 9 and 9 and 2-3 blocks, 25 productive impactful minutes is all we need. The bench is vital and RWill, Brogdon, GWill and Hauser can be a great 2nd unit. I also love seeing White getting more minutes as a starter as we know how much he adds both ends. The ball moves all over the floor with him playing with starters.

Exactly, keep Derrick starting, bring Rob off the bench, take good care of Al, he has been unbelievable during this down stretch. I am getting riled up again!!!!!

Are you this bored with this game? They have decided to just let Embid go, the rest of the team stinks.

Just dawned on me, Blake will play tomorrow, Al will be out. I know I am living in the past, but this load management stuff drives me absolutely crazy.

According to the folks at 538, the Celtics have a 38% chance of reaching the Finals and a 27% chance of winning the title, both the highest marks in the NBA
Bob
MY NOTE: Apparently 538, which is a highly credible statistics company, is underwhelmed by Milwaukee's better win/loss record and home court advantage.

Last season, the Celtics had a minus-8.7 net rating in 493 minute without either Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown on the court. This year, Boston is at +2.9 in the 218 minutes that Malcolm Brogdon has played without either Jay.

Jaylen Brown Opens Up About His Relationship with Marcus Smart
Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart have forged a brother-like bond in their seven seasons together.
BOBBY KRIVITSKYAPR 6, 2023 4:23 PM EDT
Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart are in their seventh season as teammates. The former has seen the latter go from adapting to playing alongside primary ball handlers like Isaiah Thomas, Kyrie Irving, and Kemba Walker to becoming a more impactful offensive player once he finally got the chance to be the Celtics' floor general.
The latter, in his ninth NBA season, is the longest-tenured player on the team. Smart's seen Brown go from struggling to deal with averaging 17.2 minutes per game and mostly coming off the bench as a rookie to blossoming into a two-time All-Star, playing All-NBA-caliber basketball.
In a sit-down interview with Stadium's Shams Charania, Brown conveyed the following about his relationship with Smart.
"Me and Marcus, we've got like a brother-like relationship," expressed this year's Red Auerbach Award winner.
"Me and him have bumped heads millions of times. We’ve put each other in headlocks, arm wrestled to almost fist-fighting, all types of stuff. But all out of love. We learned. We’re passionate individuals. We learn from each other. We value each other. We’ve pushed each other over time. We’ve held each other accountable over time, and that just created that relationship now where Marcus has become a family figure in my family just because I know where I stand with that person, I know where he stands with me.
"We don’t always see eye-to-eye. But when you can look somebody (in the eye) and you could trust them and you know they’ll go to war for you, those are the type of people you want to keep around in your life. Marcus is one of those guys for sure. I know if I called him, if I needed him, he'll be there."
Bob
MY NOTE: Would Jaylen be willing to leave his "brother from another mother" and start over somewhere else where he doesn't have that person in his life regularly anymore? I'd think twice before I'd do that, especially if Wyc and Brad treat him right come contract time. If there's one thing that I think everybody will agree about Jaylen, supporters and critics, it's that he is not a shallow "it's all about money and bling" type of person.
