Oden Done For Season - Again Empty Oden Done For Season - Again

It's being reported that once again Greg Oden is done for the season. Microfracture surgery is scheduled for Friday on his left knee; he missed his rookie season with the same surgery on the right.

Do you remember when there was speculation and some hope in 2007 that if we finished bad enough and the ping-pong balls went our way he might be ours?

Of course we ended up picking 7th, selected and traded Jeff Green to Seattle for a certain guard known for his shooting instead.

Poor Oden can't catch a break, and might be a huge bust through no fault of his own. You have to feel sorry for the guy, his team and the Portland fans. Who would have thought that we were dodging a bullet at the time?

Think this is the other knee now, the earlier surgery was on his right knee.
Your right though about bad breaks but he has looked closer to 40 anyway, too bad his knees are much older.

beat,

You are correct..someone has to catch my typos and errors; thanks!

It's the left knee now, was the right then. I made two lefts, so I went back and fixed it.

If I hadn't sat behind those two cheerleaders in that required semester of H.S. typing and had them do my work I would have much better keyboard skills now. So it's Debbie and JoAnne's fault. Wonder whatever became of JoAnne? I bumped into her in a bar years later and she gave me her number which I promptly lost. Lucky girl!

Still have a pair of Marcus's first sneakers (size 10) with a big L and R on the toes looking up at you!

Did you loose on purpose?

beat,

Maybe I'll borrow those sneakers...

As for the number; lost it by accident. Those were post-college partying days, starting a career and blowing a lot of the pay over the weekend. By the time the mental fog lifted a couple days later and I recalled getting her number I couldn't figure out what I did with it. A buddy who was with me says I stuck it in my pocket. I do recall the kiss goodnight she gave me very clearly though!

...anyway I have to go see if I can find a marker to put a L and R on my shoes.

I hope this is the last major injury for Oden, the guy deserves better.

This is a shame. The guy obviously has talent, but I don't know if he will ever
be able to show it. He could be all done, if not, what is left of him?

I know everyone feels he could have been here, but Danny has intimated several times that his eyes were on Durant. Can you just imagine him here?
Maybe when Paul retires his contract will be up and he might want a change of scenery!

Rosalie

Wonder if you just touched on something. Ask Shaq if he feel comfortable here? He's been around a lot. Would he say for at least an 11 game stretch has he had more fun anywhere else?

When PP is gone and Durrant becomes available ............??????????

Who knows but playing here is like playing nowhere else.

There are some things that you just don't know about.
