He came down hard on his butt and hurt his back. He went to the locker room twice and stayed the second time.

He already has back issues, really, I do hope he is ok. Too great a talent to have to miss playoff games. He is a hard worker, my guess is he will find a way to get back onto the floor.

Looks like 4 home teams lost game 1.
Playoffs getting flipped.
Giannis hurt in loss to Heat and Herro breaks his hand.
Suns, Grizzlies, Cavs and Bucks all lose at home.

Suns collapsed at home, had an 8 point lead in 4th and a hot and cold shooting Clippers team made more hustle plays to pull it out. Westbrook with a lot of great hustle plays, defense and offensive rebounds. Durant did nothing down the stretch, reminding me of Thunder playoff Durant.

Remember Net playoff Durant? That version was pretty horrible.
The only [insert team name] playoff Durant that was any good was after he joined a stacked GSW team.

yesterday
#Celtics are championship favorites now on @FanDuel after today’s #Bucks loss, Giannis injury. BOS +270 MIL +300
Bob
MY NOTE: A Game 1 loss, and a possible Game 2 loss of Giannis as his lower back contusion heals, and we're only a 270 vs 300 favorite?! They had the better regular season record in general but we owned them H2H. It doesn't matter how well they played against the rest of the league in the playoffs, only how well they played against the teams likely to advance. This strikes me as a little disrespectful of us. I hope our guys take it that way too.

Re: Playoff thread 2023
gyso,
A lot of things will be coming to roost in these playoffs, especially out West. PHX...well, I'm not going to comment just yet. Just suffice to say if they don't have a plan after getting punched in the mouth yesterday, they'll enter onto the Armageddon Protocol. Not saying they will do anything drastic yet if things don't go favorably here in the first round, but their walls will begin to cave in a lot quicker than things will have in Philly.
Yeah, Net Playoff Durant was juvenile. We reduced him and his confidence to rubble. Durant might just want to sit back, be thankful and enjoy the two titles he has because he ain't seein' anymore coming his way before his retirement, either forced or taken.
As for the Lakers, that 3-legged stool is about to become 2-legged. I'm not even sure what the 3 legs are. All I know is one leg is going to be coming off. As for yesterday's game, think Buster Douglas. That's all I'm sayin'.
MEM on the other hand and in particular Ja Morant may be the most obvious unraveling. I know I'm on record stating the Lakers won't make it out of the first round, but these two teams are very even when Morant is out of the line up or hobbled. Plus all his other background crapola that has been conveniently swept under the rug for these playoff moments goes under the microscope now. This may be more of an even series than I have originally thought.

Westbrook's hustle plays won the game for the Clippers. He shot 3-19, but when he had to hit two key free throws "nothing but net".

Re: Playoff thread 2023
Did you watch that Phoenix game? I watched bits and pieces, but everytime I turned it on, Westbrook was missing another shot. It was awful. BUT....he played defense when it counted. He really had some great plays and Phoenix just lost it, period. The block that Westbrook had close to the end of the game was terrific. He rattled Phoenix. Kwahi was awesome, he gave them the offensive push they needed. NOW..A NOTE TO THE CELITICS. I hope they watched Denver.........that is the way you BEAT a team, you get a lead and you keep it all game long, building on it and not letting go. That was a beat down, period.

And back to back finals MVP.
This from one- ( 35.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists while shooting 55.5 percent from the field, 47.4 percent from three-point range, and 92.7 percent from the free throw line.)

Re: Playoff thread 2023
For me, Rosalie, during this 2 weeks stretch of the first round, me reach exceeds my grasp! I had every intension of watching all those games, especially out West but when I woke up this morning, I didn't even come close! Definitely watched the Celtic game though! Then I just fast-forward to the 4th quarters of the other games for the last 6 or so minutes!
Things will calm down in a couple of weeks. Not as much to watch as the playoffs move on and it becomes more manageable.

Re: Playoff thread 2023
Assuming Giannis can come back after treatment, the Heat took the big hit losing Herro. Sticking with Bucks to win that series.
Knicks beating Cavs was not a surprise. The Knicks have played them well all season. With the Knicks taking away the home court advantage, they have an excellent opportunity to win that series.
Memphis was already hurting with Adams out and rotation guy Brandon Clark also out and now Ja Morant looks doubtful for game 2 or even longer. I fully expect the Lakers to win that series.
The Clippers have a better bench than the Suns. No PG13 and they steal one on the road. He is likely out for the series and Westbrook will get more minutes.. I thought he was great on the defensive side of the ball and equally horrible on offense. If he stopped taking as many shots the Clippers would have won more easily.

Beginning of the end for GSW. SAC is for real. I'm glad Mike Brown will be shedding the NBA's lovable loser tag...Finally. He's getting the respect he deserves.

Re: Playoff thread 2023
The Draymond Green NBA crime spree continues!
Commissioner Silver’s slap on the hand and go stand in the corner routine is not working.
Steve Kerr is an accomplice in all of this along with the GS FO
The disgusting War Criminal will continue to wreak havoc and run amuck until either someone McHales his dirty ass or a current remix version of ML Carr greets him in the parking lot with a sharp object.
Drink bleach u Dirty Ba%#^d! While your team gets to packing for Cancun without you…

Well, THAT didn't take long!! Long live Ktron!!
Did the NBA decide anything today or are they going to let the ejection be enough?

About time the league did the right thing. Draymond chambered his leg before he stomped him, a guy that size stepping down with that kind of force….amazing Sabonis didn’t suffer more damage.

Re: Playoff thread 2023
I’m noticing another very dirty player, Rudy Gobert. He just pushed Jokic out of bounds from Jokics back like an offensive lineman and got caught. Still pissed what he did to Tatum, had a hand on his torso/rib cage as Tatum was in mid flight and knocked him down.

The good news is neither of those clowns nor their respective teams will be waiting for us in the Finals!! They will be watching from home. Long live Ktron!!

P.S. Did everyone catch the looks on the faces and the non-verbal communication going on with the rest of the Warriors team after the incident? Now that crap was hilarious! Players turning away from him, feet pointing away from him, bodies turned away from him not facing him dead on, heads hanging down in shame, not looking him in the eyes...classic Joe Navarro NVC.
