PRE-Lottery Draft Order, POST Tie-Breakers
Boston has no first round pick, it went to Indy in the Nesmith/Brogdon trade. It's the #29 pick, so it's almost as bad as you can get. Picks that low tend to be marginal players with a limited NBA future but because they're still 1st rounders they get guaranteed multi-year contracts.
We currently pick #33 (from Houston), and we have #35 (from Portland).
At the NBA Draft lottery on Tuesday, May 16, if Houston has a higher first-round selection than San Antonio, the Celtics will get the 33rd pick. If it's the other way around the Rockets retain their second-round pick and all we'll have this year is Portland's #35, unless Brad pulls some razzle-dazzle.

The draft order has been finalized.

The Celtics will have the 35th pick in round 2. There is talent to be had there and given the Celtics limitations in FA signings, that pick could be a bonus for us.

With the 35th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft the World Champion Boston Celtics select Noah Clowney, forward out of Alabama.

6'10", 210#, 7'2" wingspan. 28% from 3. Freshman.
NBAdraft.com - #27/28
Tankathon - #27
SI - late first/early second
Kevin O'Connor, The Ringer - #26
Yahoo Sports - #25
CBS Sports - #27
Only one mock drafter, Sports Illustrated, has Clowney falling into the 2nd round, and even they're saying he could be late 1st round too.
