Hoping Ja Morant has learned his lessons on NBA brand and the company he keeps.  1-8 with 16 more games to go is not a good hole in which to dig oneself/team out.  Marcus must be pulling his hair out.  That's an awful start.  Then he's got to infiltrate himself back the game.  That could take another 10 games min.  He has been quiet.  That's a good thing I believe.  Somebody or something has gotten through to him.  But if you're going to be 3-22 when he hits the court, good luck.  This will be a wasted year. He has no one to blame but himself.

Philadelphia 76ers wing Kelly Oubre Jr. is in stable condition after being struck by a motor vehicle as a pedestrian in Philadelphia on Saturday, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The injuries are reportedly expected to cause Oubre to miss significant time, but they are not considered season-ending. Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey was among the team executives with Oubre at the hospital on Saturday.

The incident occurred near Oubre's residence in Center City, per a spokesman.

The 27-year-old Oubre is in his first season with the Sixers after signing a one-year, minimum-salary contract last offseason. He has been a major asset for the team so far as it figures out its post-James Harden identity, averaging 16.3 points per game on 50.0% shooting (37.8 from 3-point range) in eight games, with five starts.

A former first-round pick with the Washington Wizards, Oubre has also played for Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors and Charlotte Hornets.

That's OK, everyone.  Ja's coming back!!! (Yes, load that statement and all it's implications with TONS of sarcasm!!)  Sorry Marcus.  Hate you are having to tolerate this.  

Now on to Hardhead.  I honestly cannot add one word to that commentary.  Tune into First Take tomorrow morning as Steven A. is beside himself and can probably not contain himself waiting to pile on to that completely accurate, look in the mirror you're the problem blast off.  Harden has written his own tombstone just like the Soup Nazi.  "No Title for You!!" He'll get into the HoF but only after a few tries.  

Ty!!  Save yourself!!  Get out while you can!!  You're good but you ain't that good and certainly don't deserve what's coming.  You're at least better off than the Grizzlies!

MY NOTE: Without taking a hard look at their roster I don't think Houston's overall talent is THAT much better than last year. The difference is coaching.

Ime's going to be good regardless of where he is coaching. Defense makes the difference. Our coach is a little different in that he is trying to shift both offense and defense out on the curve further. He got offense last season and questionable defense. This season it's much better defense and even way more offense. Something like that.

Milwaukee Buck Jae Crowder will have surgery to repair a groin injury and is expected to miss 8 weeks.

Damn. That must REALLY hurt for him to have surgery. Jae is a true tough guy.
