Historical Performance ?
There have been 9 previous NBA teams that swept the Finals. A win by the Celtics tomorrow night will make it 10 teams. The Celtics also did it in 1959 and so they would be the only team to do it more than once.
But here is the record setting potential. None of those previous 9 teams also swept the conference finals. With a win tomorrow night the Boston Celtics can establish a new record for the first time in NBA History by sweeping both the conference and NBA finals.
Also if they finish 16-2 they will have the 3rd best playoff record in NBA History (#1 GSW 2017 16-1 record and #2 LAL 2001 15-1 record)
