New Butt Ugly City Edition Celtics Jersey

According to the article on NESN, NIKE is the one who did this.  I do not know this to be an absolute certainty.  According to  my research, there can be collaboration between Nike and the team.

They look like something from the dark ages.  They are an insult to the visualization of Celtics fans.  We deserve better, much much better!

Wrong color green. At least go with the correct hue.

Quality and creativity have been issues since Nike took over the NBA jersey designs before the 2017-18 season. If the leaked photo of the hideous Boston Celtics alternate jersey is this season's actual design, Nike certainly dropped the ball in creativity.

The jersey is an unimaginative regular muscle shirt with absolutely no creativity. The city edition jerseys are supposed to pay homage to the history and cultures of each team and city, but the design for Boston is nothing more than the franchise name with a lime green stripe to match -- and it's not even Celtics green.

If this is the best Nike could come up with, the multi-billion dollar company missed the mark. It's a glorified practice jersey with the wrong colors. Even the word Beantown across the chest would be better, considering Houston has "H-Town" on its jersey.

Fans flocked to social media to express their disgust with the representation. A majority of the fans chiming in on the design used words like hideous, basic, boring, disgusting, ugly, and worst. And they are not wrong.

Nike didn't just miss the mark with the Celtics; they also missed the net with the Lakers, Cavaliers, Suns and Wizards city edition jerseys. Maybe Nike will go back to the drawing board and rethink the designs, given the amount of backlash received

Nike should stick with what they know best...athletic shoes.  Clearly, Nike has a very inflated opinion of their own contributions to the sports market place and have most certainly lost their collective, ever-loving minds.

Terrible! I’d love to see not a single one sold, why would anyone buy that horrible THING when there are so many better looking Celtics jerseys out there. Please, jersey buying public, hit Nike where they live…in their pockets!

I saw that. Pretty much universal distain for Nike.

That Jersey looks like something a 1980s aerobics instructor might wear. I can almost see a young Richard Simmons (RIP) sporting the jersey with matching neon green short-shorts.

MY NOTE:  So when we're cheering for our team what should we yell?  Go Gold!?  Go White!?  SMDH.  They've completely forgotten the color green means something to this team and Boston.

I kinda like it as it matches the O'Brien Trophy Colors.  But yeah, it needs some GREEN as well.  I'm guessing those are for sale to the public.

The problem is the NBA and the ownership of the Celtics and every other team as well.

Anything that creates demand for new merchandise sales and a healthy override to the league and each team.

Fans will need the newest gear, right? If it’s new, someone… lots of someone’s, will buy it.
