Pre-Game GSW Empty Pre-Game GSW

We have a few minutes to catch our collective breath and divert our attention to the election wrapping up today.  But the sun will come up tomorrow, Annie notwithstanding, and all eyes will be on the juggernaut game of GSW @ BOS.  If you believe in settling scores, then you'll see JT put on a game similar to our opener against the Knicks this season.  I've got the early over/under for his point production starting at 53.5.

Steve Kerr has probably told his team that this has been a long time coming.  And he will probably concede this and acknowledge this in his post-game presser that he alone created this monster by not keeping his big yap shut.  There's a shocker.  What he won't concede is both his mea culpa and losing this game.  He plans full well to come into Boston and take yet another game from us at the most inopportune time.  He hasn't gathered 9 titles as player and coach being an idiot.  He and Joe will be the two smartest people in the room Wednesday.

All we can hope for is an official changing of the guard tomorrow night and that the Warriors will vividly see in us themselves 6-8 years ago when all was swell in GS.  That would look a lot like JT going apeshit, a blowout win accompanied by a violent, cry-baby season-ending Draymond ejection.  Joe will need to keep a tight leash on our guys to remind them to stay in the vacuum of eliminating every possible way to lose.  If you cover all those bases, by definition the only possible outcome is victory.  No one will care if it's a blowout or by one point.  But a blowout will sting, especially the way GSW seem to be playing as of late without Klay.  Boston needs to make them look like a bunch of old guys.

I just wonder if Joe the puppet master is going to craftily and carefully push the Draymond button just for giggles.  Just a side dish to keep your eye on if Election Day hasn't vomited itself into the rest of this week!

Happy Voting!!  Go America!!

You give him too much credit. He will lie his way out of whatever happens.  I only hope they don’t get so juiced up that they start flinging 3’’s Up and missing. I would rather they pick his whole offense and defense apart by playing smart basketball and giving them another 50 point shellacking

A review of GSW through this early start to the season, reveals a team that can still put up a lot of points.

They are averaging 121.6 PPG.  The big surprise has been their defense.  Through 7 games they are holding opponents to only 104.3 PPG.    We will see if these are credible numbers because they  have had a relatively easy schedule at 6-1 with wins over Portland, Utah, Nola (2), Houston, Washington  and their only loss to LAC.

Steve Kerr has talked about playing 12 guys on a regular basis and a review of their statistics indicates that is a true statement.  They have 11 players that are logging at least 16 minutes per game plus two others that are playing at least 10 MPG.  The top MPG player is  (drum role) Brandon Podziemski at 28.1 MPG.  No one is playing 30 MPG. Buddy Hield is their top scorer at 21.9 PPG and he must be in 3 point heaven.  He is shooting 50% on 9.4 attempts per game.  Here is a link to their stats.

https://www.espn.com/nba/team/stats/_/name/gs/golden-state-warriors

The style of the Warrior has not changed and they have taken small ball to a new level.  Kevin Looney has zero starts.  The team is putting up 42 three point attempts per game at 39.1%

GS is #1 in 3rd QTR points and #3 4th QTR points.  Overall, they are #1 in second have points.  The Celtics are #1 in first half points but only 19th in second half points.

Therefore this game can only be won if we play 48 minutes of quality basketball.  We can ill afford to just show up for the first half.

I think we will have a big man advantage.  CJ will need to use his bench.  JB will miss his 3rd game so minutes will be there for our rotation guys.  Defensively we will need for guys to really get after it.

Time for our guys to put GSW defense to an extreme stress test.

Take the Celtics at home against anybody and everybody.

Only 2 players on GS have started in all 7 games. (Draymond Green and Trayce Jackson-Davis, a 6' 9" forward that does not stretch the floor as he has never attempted a 3 point shot)

My hope is JT drops 50 and we whip the Warriors by 30 to stick to Kerr, but I'm sure that's asking too much.

Not asking too much there at all, IMHBAO, Celtics17.  You are preaching to the choir here!

Yeah, tonight isn't going to sit very well if JT goes bananas and we lose.  Nothing less than a good ol' fashion AW.  Throw in Draymond having to be restrained and hauled off by security...I'm good!!
