I am strangely optimistic that Bynum will be fine for the rest of the year and throughout the playoffs. I hope I'm right.

Last year in the playoffs against OKC Kobe was blasted for only taking 10 shots in the Lakers game 4 blow out loss. The Lakers effort and focus was not there, so he said screw it, and mailed in that loss with the rest of his teammates and conserved his energy for game 5. Now when he tries to keep the Lakers in the game by scoring as much as he can, people get on him. If this was another regular season game not against the Celtics, Kobe would have accepted the loss and gone to the bench much earlier.
Nobody wants to see Kobe take 25 shots. That is a generally a losing formula.

The NBA season is very long and demanding. The team with the best record in the NBA has won only 2 of the last 9 championships.
I don't think LA will hesitate to upgrade the roster if they feel they need to.
They are saving $8m by trading away Vujacic and have a $4m trade exception.
They have some financial and roster flexibility if they want to upgrade their team.

Attacking Kobe is a case of "shoot the Messerschmidt."
