As Rondo goes....so goes the Celtics!!!!!!!!

Great overall game by the Celtics ....energy, crisp passing, running and shooting....That's Celtic basketball!!!!!!!

I may be a little coincidental but how come the Celtics had their best game in over 3 weeks with the return of JON.
he looked really good tonight and no one came charging into the paint when he was playing...just stay healthy my friend!!

Good to see Von Wafer get some time in...he'll bring some high energy along with West on the second unit.

Nice also to see Doc getting Green more into the offense and I mean not just shooting jumpers. The kid attacked the paint several times for baskets!!!!! Keep it going.

Kristic injury does not look good...any time you see a knee go sideways there is no stability. This puts more pressure on Shaq to return.

Atlanta tomorrow on ESPN .......so I guess we get the three stooges. It was nice to have McHale and Harlen call a game vs. those tree idiots!

BIG WIN.

BTW...the refs in the NBA are a DISGRACE.

Rondo drove to the basket over and over and didnt get one FT attempt until the end of the 4th. Bunch of blind bastards.

Fellas

Who starts now at the 5? It's either JON or Davis...man I just aint sure. Anyway that is the most confident and crisp i have seen our beloved Celtics look against a good team since the trade. JON gave us an element we have not had in weeks and if he can give us 15 minutes like that a game i really like our chances to come out of the east. He is just big and can play d against anyone in the nba within the celts scheme.

KG was brutal effective tonight. As was Rajon. I was so happy to see that Rayray 3 go in.

Amazing how good we can look with 2 days off, great to see JON and Von Wafer back. That is some bench with those 2 plus Baby, Delonte and Jeff Green......now if we can just get Shaq back, oh shit were gonna really need Shaq back now with who knows what could be wrong with Krstic. If Shaq can defy Father Time this team is stacked and obviously a team built for playoffs. Damn I was just liking a BIG man rotation of Shaq-JON-Kristic, and we haven't even seen it yet.

Jon back and now kristic out. Can we get a break.

Very strong game in sa. Kg was white hot. Celtics do not have problems getting up for the good teams. Up until last night, sa was 14-0 against the east.

Boston showed a much different intensity last night then they have in quite a while. Very good win at SA.
Fortunately, they played SA while they are in their worst funk of the season. SA has lost 5 games in a row and is now 1-7 in their last 8 games against teams that are going to the playoffs.

Boston can bring in another player but that player had to have been a free agent at least since 3/1 or placed on waivers by his previous team by 3/1.
I can't think of any big man that is worth picking up that fits that criteria.
Earl Barron and Jarron Collins can be picked up but are not eligible for the postseason roster.

Blind???

The C's got to the FT line more times than the Spurs.

And do you really want contact-averse Rondo shooting FTs?

I think not.

ga

Still think early we did get some bum calls..........Mano was going for an Oscar, but things seemed to even out more as the game went along.

As for the Rondo comment. I was sitting there watching the game with Marcus and with about 3 minutes to go and the C's up 7 ( I think) Rondo had the ball near half court and I said to Marcus, " I'd foul him every time he touches the ball"

A little bit later they did send him to the line but it appeared to be a bit windy and Rondo missed both. After that the C's kept the ball out of his hands till it was over.

Certainly a nice win but the minutes for RR RA and PP were heavy and we'll see the sum of that this eve I am afraid. Hopefully Nads will be OK in a few days but ...........JON looked pretty damn good for being out so long, I would have thought the rust would take longer to come off but he looked pretty new and shiney. Only 11 minutes but gotta start somewhere.

Seemed to me that Parker was getting anywhere he wanted when he wanted and how he wanted. Seemed he went by RR with absolute ease. But the reverse was true too. And Rondo even made a couple of open J's in his big 4th quarter too.

Shaq's return? I hope so even for 10 - 15 minutes per game just to give us a little protection around the bucket and give the other bigs (which are getting to be less in number ) a little more rest.

What does how many times the rest of the team gets to the line have to do with the comment I made about Rondo? Answer: NOTHING.

What does how Rondo shoots FT have to do with wanting the refs to call the game that is in front of them? Answer: NOTHING.

You think not? You think it is fair to watch your All Star PG get thrown all over the court by the opposition?

Give me a break.

Just to clarify, the Spurs are 57-18 overall and 35-11 in conference, which would make them 22-7 against the East. Not sure where the 14-0 came from, but it didn't sound right considering the Celtics had already beaten them before, so I checked and got the above stats.

Hi,
Big win and big loss yesterday.
I'd say we saw a preview of what Celtics can and, hopefully, will do to any team in the playoffs. Thank you very much.
As for the loss, it didn't look good for NK. I doubt that JON can feel the shoos of starting 5, yet. I don't know the actual status of Shaq. So, if in the second half of April and beyond either Shaq or NK is not back - Boston, we have a problem.
Now back to the last game. I wonder what other teams are going to do about RR: last night he got confidence and killed SAS with his jumper. Are they going to tighten his coverage or let him roam as before?

Rondo knows how to draw contact to get to the FT line... and would if he had any confidence at all that he could hit his FTs.

He gets to the line less than 2 times a game and hits right about 1 FT per game.

An awful lot of avoidance going on here by our AS PG. Don't blame the refs if they don't give him the call.

If anything, they are likely trying to do the kid a favor.

Rondo might have been grazed on the play that he got the Tech, but there is more contact on almost every play then that one.
The refs didn't shaft Boston as some claim they did, although I missed the first 5 or 6 minutes and didn't see either of KG's 2 early fouls.
Rondo played great last night. Very confident outside shooting.
If he has a couple of lousy games coming up, I hope we don't hear anymore excuses about his pinky. That ship has sailed.
KG also was lights out from 15-20 feet.

Are you kidding me? Did you even watch the game last night? He got spun to the ground by Tim Duncan - and then yelled at the ref and got a technical. Does that sound like someone trying to avoid drawing contact?

gacracker wrote:He gets to the line less than 2 times a game and hits right about 1 FT per game.

What does this stat have to do with anything? He gets to the line twice a game - so that means he only gets fouled once a night while shooting? You have got to be joking.

I have to wonder GC if you even watch the games....or further, if you are even a Celtics fan. Your comments here are so off base it is incredible.

It was a fair game for the 43 minutes that I watched.
I am sorry if Boston got every bad call in the first half of the first quarter.

Rondo did not get spun by Duncan. If he did I would agree with you.

I'll weigh in to say that overall the ref's missed many fouls committed by SAS especially on Paul Pierce. Were there fouls committed by the C's that were not called.......yes but not in proportion to even things out. The point is the ref's again called a poor game and were homer's tonight.

112288,

No one here was happy when the refs called every foul in game 2 of last year's Finals. Do you really want them blowing the whistle on every posession?
The referees are well aware that Pierce throws his head back or flails his body when he drives through the lane. The same is true for Derek Fisher. He exaggerates the contact when a pick is set against him or is trying to take a charge. I am happy to see that often referees don't go along with players acting on the court.

The first few minutes were bad. KG standing straight up on a pick and Mano runs into it and falls down.............then moments later he gets tangled up with RA who is trying to make a cut and makes it look like RA is throwin g him down. If anything these were both non calls and both went against the C's.

And as Marcus duly noted we had Queen Violet Palmer reffin last eve too.

I know the league SAYS all officials are graded and games are reviewed ect ect ect.....yet so many terrible calls are made.

Did think it evened out somewhat over the course of the game. Just would love to see what a player like Cowens would have done to poor Mano.
