Re: Mayo signs with Mavs
JON's best years are far behind him. He just never "got" the Celtics way of life or doing things. His talents have eroded. The only thing he did well for Boston was take charges, and he can work a cash register to do that. We couldn't count on him for consistent scoring or rebounding. The C's are well rid of him.
The reporters that were watching Jermaine O'Neals workout all said he looked like he was in great shape and was moving quite well. Jermaine said he feels better then he has in 5 years. That could be a good pick up for LA at the veterans minimum.
TJ,
I agree. As a 3rd or 4th option, he'd be ok. I wouldn't put too much faith in JON's claim about "feeling better than he has in years", though, he told us that too.
I thought he was done when Perk ate him alive in the playoffs a few years back. He got no better after we signed him.

easier to take charges when
1) You can't get off the ground.
2) You are stationary.
(does help in setting legal picks though)

Jermaine's Stationary was paper thin. The only thing his game was grounds for was BAD coffee! (LOL)
