As cowens and I figured out, it not as major of an upset as I originally thought, but it certainly isn't expected. It's still better than 2:1.

Regardless of the odds, or the percentage of the road team winning a game 7 (approximately 20% or so) THIS particular upset - because of all the hoopla surrounding the Lebron "Big Three" era with their proclamation of "not one, not two, not three, not four, not five..." bullcrap, it would go done in history and public perception - especially since the Heat, until a few games ago had run off a mindblowing streak of 46 wins in 49 games - as one of the biggest playoff upsets ever. And most surprising.

And for Celtic fans, one of the most satisfying. Almost like beating their anuses ourselves.

Hard to watch this. Vogel better have a Vince Lombardi speech up his sleeve for halftime.

IND just doesn't have it. They are about a season away from getting it. Not this year, though.

Maybe next year with Granger they can do it. They don't really have enough consistent offense as it is. West, Hibbert, George is a nice forefront to have but they need something more.

I was sorry to see it end that way, but that's what you get when you don't win Game 5 on the road and wrap it up in 6. Humiliation in Game 7. While it was a great series up through 6, Game 7 made this an unmemorable series. IND had their chances on all the odd games 3,5 and 7 and blew all three of them.

Sure, IND got better year over year in the playoffs vs. MIA but not good enough. We know that this may have been their last chance. Lots of things can happen and will happen to IND going into next season as we learned the hard way this past season. Lots of high expectations coming into the season, then to bow out in a heap in the first round and now we don't know wtf lies ahead for us. All you can say from this series is IND gave MIA a good run and that's it. They had numerous chances and blew all of them. I really wanted to be completely wrong on this series, but again, series bball is very predictable.

Now it's time to begin digesting our last hope for MIA's demise, the match up between the well rested Spurs and the Heat.

The Rest of the Playoffs - Page 10 Empty Re: The Rest of the Playoffs

Clearly as the end of the playoffs rapidly approach we shift our focus to the upcoming draft and then find out exactly what the Celtics were thinking and then analyze the heck out of that through summer league and through October until the season begins.

It has been good to know there has been some interest in a playoffs sans the Celtics. The theme here has pretty much been hoping MIA will stumble for a variety of reasons. Well, we're down to the last chance. I personally believe the best chance to beat MIA was last round and IND came up short. How short some will still argue since Game 7 was such a disappointment compared to the rest of the series.

Honestly, though , this is the series everyone was expecting after the season got going, so here it is.

The only real mysteries are which SAS team will show up and can they outsmart MIA long enough to win 4 games first. While Pop is the master magician taking old men where they have never been before, his streak will run out over the next 14 days. Sadly, they won't be able to stop this moving train.

The press is once again grasping for a story line for this series and the only thing they can come up with is LeBron's Revenge from 6 years ago. And they are still just basically filling time and space by concluding MIA is going to win this one. The euphemism for Dullsville.

I don't see any real reason to watch this series except that it is the NBA Finals. SAS just doesn't evoke the aura of a giant slayer. But OT readers will tell you that is exactly what Goliath thought before the rock lodged in his forehead. So barring an Old Testament ass-whooping, this one is dialed in for MIA for a back-to-backer.

SAS can outsmart them, but that is only going to go so far. Age will finally become an issue for SAS going up against these thoroughbreds. LeBron will be half way to officially beginning his count of titles in less than two weeks.

Again, I hope I am wrong and will gladly admit it, but no one is stopping MIA this year. IND had the best shot and failed to show up in Game 7.

Well, all we can hope for is MIA to get into foul trouble. Maybe we can hope that David Stern giveth and David Stern taketh it away.

OK, Stern has the refs. Blocking on TD...ridiculous. I could have made that call.

WOW, boys and girls. We may have something here. Let's see if MIA cracks under the pressure. 3 minutes to go. We all know the stats for Game 1 winners and the subsequent outcome...
