MY NOTE: Considering they only have 4 players under contract (Kobe, Nash, Sacre and Randle) but have $34M in salary already committed I don't understand how adding this much salary for one more player is in the Lakers' interests but who am I to argue with the heir-designate of Dr. Buss.?

And LA is smart to gather draft picks.

Bob,

Lin is a pretty good player. Maybe the best pg on the Lakers roster.
This is very similar to Boston's trade in getting Thornton and Zeller for a 1st round pick.
LA has struck out on LeBron and probably Carmelo, so onto plan C.
I think they will now trade Pau to Chicago for Boozer and draft picks or trade him to OKC.
