Lately (except when he's been injured) it initially seems as though Rondo has improved his free throw stroke with diligent practice over the summer. But, by season's end, he has sunken to his usual level.
I think that, if you polled any 10 different members of this forum, you'd get 10 different views on what's wrong with Rondo's free throw shooting. My theory is that he grew up showing off his palming expertise because of his huge hands, and he's less comfortable taking shots that ideally involve fingertip control than shots on which he can palm the ball.
