The Celtics did not have a high level of energy when they hit the court against the Grizz.

It appears we have not answer against the big team (Houston, Dallas and the Grizz)  Time to promote Opie into the starting lineup.

That's an older list, not that it makes much difference. Here's a newer list.

Not a lot there to inspire free agent hopes, which is why I think the Celtics have to take a center in the next draft. The guys who would be the best fit for Boston -- Asik, Lopez, Marc Gasol, DeAndre Jordan -- are all likely to re-sign with their current team. The rest of them are either backups, too old, or otherwise not the answer.

Outside,

I think you hit it exactly.

Looking at who might be available as a free agent, and who we have to trade to acquire a center, the only realistic option appears to be the draft.

With as many as 6 centers that look like they have good NBA potential expected to declare for the draft, we should have a shot at selecting one.

Unless, as I mentioned elsewhere, Ainge can trade the Ice Capades for someone.

My oversight, Green is included in starting.

Sam,

Panicking????????...........there is no panicking about this team.......this team is set to win no more then 34 games max........as almost everyone who professionally follows basketball has predicted and not make the playoffs. This team is in a rebuild mode and will not compete for a playoff spot until next year IF we are able to land some free agents, a trade or two, and landing a true center with some talent to defend the rim.

Hey, we all wish we can turn the switch on and produce a winning team, but we cannot.  Even leading to the trades of 2008, we had to select talent in drafts prior to 2008 in order to have enough talent to trade for KG and RA. We now have to sit and do our time, go through several draft cycles until we sift out the talent to find the gold.

With that being said about where we are going this year...............there is room for experimentation with whomever is sitting on the bench especially Young and Powell.

That is strictly one man's opinion!

112288,

Still waiting to see Powell and Young in Sunday's game.  You can have the donuts, but I'll take the dollars.

I love predictions.
