Wolves cut Bennett

I saw rumors of that the other day. I'd say no. Pretty much all he has going for him is that he was the top pick. We're overloaded with power forwards, and while he may be a good player one day he's a project now and wouldn't get the playing time to justify his #1 pick salary.

Good point - forgot that resets his salary. If we could get him for a reasonable salary, then there's the question of whether he's better to have on the roster than one of the existing PFs. I'd guess that since he asked for the buyout, he has a destination in mind already. Otherwise why not just stay in Minny where he'd probably play and could learn from KG. Unless KG made him cry.

I was just curious to see what everyone felt about this.

I think Cleveland did make a mistake when they drafted him at # 1 and also I think that he has not been on the right team in either Cleveland or Minny.

I think most # 1 picks are supposed to come out from day one and play well. Bennett is a player with tons of talent but he still need to learn how to play. He needs a quality coach.

If we did not already have a zillion power forwards I would take a flyer on him for short money.

Yeah. If we had room on the roster for a project, he has a lot of potential. We're just overloaded at that spot.
