"Summer" Is Almost Over

The first pre-season game is tomorrow, Tuesday 10/6/15 vs Olimpia Milan. It will be televised at 2 pm EDT. The next game, against Real Madrid, will be played Thursday 10/8/15 at 3 pm EDT.

Real hoop. Finally. My prediction is that these two games will be better than the ones we'll see next with the Knicks etc. Aside from the much higher quality of Milan and Real Madrid both the Celtics and the Knicks will be tinkering with lineups and the players won't quite be in game shape yet. Quite frankly, I expect to lose both of these games but final scores in pre-season don't matter no matter who you are playing against.

Olimpia Milano has several players who played in the Eurobasket tournament that just ended. Real Madrid has former NBAers Rudy Fernandez and Gustavo Ayon. Three of their players were on the Spanish national team that were the champions of the Eurobasket tournament. Several of their players are former Olympians, winning silver. Neither of these teams are even remotely close to pushovers and they have players who are in game shape from that tournament.
