How Many Wins?

I went with 46 also.  I think baring injuries and perhaps a spike up in play from the rookies or second year players we could get to 50 wins. Lee and Johnson are solid players and can bring a mix of consistent defense and offense that was lacking at times last year. I do put emphases on being consistent.

Now we have not talked trades and who knows what talent that could bring.

When posed this question, I believe Sam's usual answer was 82.

I choose 48 wins. I think that is a realistic # although it is not really possible to gauge moves made by other teams.

I know he didn't make predictions. But I do remember him responding to the question of how many wins the Celtics would get in an upcoming season with "82." It was both a playful jab at the notion of making predictions and a reflection of the unrepentant optimism with which he chose to view the the team.

I tried several ways of finding it in the thread history, but the history is limited, and since the forum is so active with new threads all the time, old ones drop off. Not that that's a bad thing, but it does limit what you can search for in the thread history.

Thanks. Good job. I was thinking about finding these threads wherever they had vanished to but time got sucked away into other stuff. I appreciate you taking the time to hunt them down.

Next season, when we produce these types of threads, maybe we should put them up as stickies after they've made their first pass through the board.

Unfortunately I don't think we hang on to a top four seed in the east just hope we don't slide down to 7th or 8th. Guess the biggest thing is to win what we can and get healthy. Although we are pretty deep compared to some teams fact remains when one of the main 4 wheels is missing the car doesn't look nor run quite the same on the "smaller " donut. And the missing tire can fit on any wheel too.

Still believe even if we slide some, we can win a first round series, if we are 100% healthy..........any wins beyond that is extra gravy on my potatoes for me.
