Update

Hello All,

I wanted to let you know that my father passed away Sunday night and I was up north from Monday morning to last night.
Even though he had been sick for quite some time, as I found out, you are never ready for something like that to happen.
I will be heading back up to NJ tomorrow morning for a couple of days.

I am glad I will be home tonight to watch game 7 in the quiet of my own home.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about this. My mother passed away in January after a long illness. There are no words that work here.

I'm so sorry to hear the news. I know the board wishes you nothing but the best...and many, many happy memories. I've told others on this board that I believe no one truly dies as long as someone (s)he has touched remains behind. The responsibility for carrying on his legacy now shifts to you and other family members, and I'm sure you'll shoulder it well.

I'm very sorry to hear this news. My dad passed away suddenly and 10 years later our whole family still talks about him, reminisces and wishes he were alive to be the one who held everything together.

I am proud that he made almost a complete transition from the person he was to the new person he became.
It took him many years to recognize that he wasn't there for us as kids or for my mom, but in the last 15 years he showed more interest in my family (my wife and kids) then anyone else did.
With my dad, he finished his life happy, remarried at 68 years old and made an impact on those that knew him. It took him a long time to get himself together, but I feel the way you finish life is more important that what you did or didn't do decades ago.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. Times like this are never easy. Please send my condolence to you and your family. My wife and I are still trying to get on with our lives after her father passed away suddenly last April. We try to remember the funs times and memories we had with my Father-in Law, and sometimes that even brings a smile to our faces.

TJ, Like all above I am truly sorry to hear about your loss, I lost my mom on April 15th of this year and still think of her daily. May God bless you and your family and continue to give you the strength to make it through this difficult time.

TJ- We always think we are all grown up and prepared for anything. Even at my age, when I lost my Dad, it was as if I was a kid again and had lost the best friend I ever had.
