Robert Williams III routinely shined for the Celtics when he was healthy, but his time in Boston was mired by a struggle to stay on the court.
Could that change now that he’s with the Portland Trail Blazers?
It doesn’t look like it.
Williams missed the Trail Blazers’ preseason loss to the Phoenix Suns on Thursday due to a knee injury, according to Portland reporter Sean Highkin. The ex-Celtics big was reportedly involved in a “nasty collision” with teammate Jerami Grant that caused him to experience soreness in his knee.
Williams’ absence Thursday was said to be out of caution.
It was not made clear which knee Williams collided with Grant, but he did undergo an arthroscopic knee procedure on his left knee prior to the start of the 2022-23 season.

Re: Jrue Holiday
This is going to be a career problem for Rob, sad to say. The Celtics knew how to treat him? but I feel he just has legs that do not want to stay healthy Love the kid, and what he brought when he was on the court, but I do believe the writing was on the wall for his tenure here. They could only say woulda coulda shoulda so many times. I hope in some way he finds a way to play more games and live up to what we all saw in him

Man I hate hearing of this, love the kid and wish him the best. Was always an adventure when he would fall down and how he would get up, was always concerned
