Stoudemire hurts himself after punching fire extinguisher case

This makes me feel better about Rondo and the ref situation. At least Rondo didn't injure himself and left the passion on the court:

Amar’e Stoudemire walked off the court after yet another New York Knicks playoff loss, frustrated, fuming, dismissed again by the Miami Heat. A little more than an hour later, he would leave American Airlines Arena with his left hand heavily bandaged, his arm in a sling and both his and the Knicks' immediate futures in doubt.

In between, Stoudemire punched a fire extinguisher case in the Knicks' locker room, mangling his left hand on the glass and causing a chaotic scene that saw paramedics wheel a stretcher into the room. Stoudemire needed stitches to close the gash on his hand, but flew home to New York with the Knicks.

A Knicks spokesman said Stoudemire's status for Thursday's Game 3 is uncertain, but it appears unlikely he'll play then – or even again this postseason.

The true colors of the Knicks are coming through. Carmelo can't dig them out of this hole they have put themselves into. Good enough for them, they are such an unlikeable team, unfortunately it is Miami who is handling them so easily

I actually see him as a shadow of his former self, before his knee problems. In his heydey with Phoenix, he relied on his superior athleticism to run past and jump over people, and jump he could. He was like a human pogo stick.

In the game last night against the Heat, I saw one play where he attacked the basket and the Miami defender fouled him and stopped his shot. He got two free throws out of it, but in the old days, he would've dunked and had an and-one, or the defender would've stepped aside knowing he had no chance.

Stoudemire has hand surgery, to miss Game 3

Amare Stoudemire's difficult season may be over.

Stoudemire had a small muscle in his left hand repaired Tuesday and will not play for the New York Knicks in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series against the Miami Heat on Thursday.

Stoudemire met with a hand specialist at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, a day after he was badly cut when he punched the case surrounding a fire extinguisher after the Knicks' 104-94 loss in Miami.

The Knicks are listing Stoudemire as doubtful for Game 4 on Sunday.

interesting and truthful. Amare may have seen his last days in NY. I don't exactly know what his $ is, but, after losing him for a good portion of the season, I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone.. This article is so revealing about any athlete who's skills are leaving them a shell of what they were. I don't know if I could stand watching Ray or Kevin erode before my eyes. The off season is going to be very interesting.

After this season, Stoudemire is owed a combined $65 million for the next three years. With a history of major microfracture surgery and now an incident of serious lack of judgment that will cost his team dearly (not that they would have beaten the Heat with him healthy). Also, he will be 30 years old when next season starts.

I'd say the Amar'e stock be goin' down.

My name used to be beatLA, but out of respect for a couple of laker fans that came aboard here I modified it a bit, now I'm just beat. ( sometimes in more ways than one)

Original name came for the chant the Celtics fans gave Philly back in the mid early 80's when they were losing the the 7th game at home and it became ever increasingly apparent that the 76'ers were going on to play the lakers.......... the Boston Crowd began to chant to them to "beat LA" as we were not going to advance.

Again nice to have you on the deck!
