KG is still an asset against almost anyone and Ray was a liability against all the best guards. With him on the perimeter, KG, and everyone else had to work much harder on defense, so his leaving should help KG and the team. It could be seen as a beautiful move by the DA and Doc's masterstroke - benching Ray so he'd jump ship and free up all that salary, in effect trading Ray Allen for Lee and Terry. That genius!
