"Mental variables" is as good a description of a loony bin as I've ever heard and that's what I think this would be. God help the coach, whomever they are.

If Doc was here I'd say maybe. He could manage big egos and keep them in line. Now? Without knowing who the head coach will be I'd be concerned about that. There's also the question of how the $ would work.

On the other hand, having Rondo + D12 + Smith + two 1st round picks in next year's draft = a pretty freaking good young, starting lineup on paper, and that's not including whomever else we'd have left on the team after we give up whomever we'd have to give up to get those two. With a team like that, maybe Phil Jackson will apply for the job?

They are whoever you want them to be. Whom is an object. Whoever is not an object after "are". Whoever is the same as the subject. Whoever are they. They are whoever. Whoever they are.

"whomever else we'd have" is fine. We'd have him. Him is an object. We'd have whom. Whom is an object. Thus the objective form of who.

I've heard ones much, much worse than that from some gays I know. Like everybody, they feel they can get away with telling jokes about themselves but God help anybody else who tells them. I must say that the prospect of getting Howard and Smith is intriguing.

It sounds pretty outlandish but we already know that Josh and Rajon have wanted to play together for years and Howard's days are numbered in LA. Both LA and Atl are in tough positions since they stand to lose the player (s) unless they make a deal.

This would be the real blockbuster.

We would have to give up probably Green and Bradley, future 1st rounders and other players to make this work.

It is a pipe dream but sometimes even pipe dreams come true.

This is also another reason why you do not trade Rajon Rondo. He may very well have the ability to recruit. No other player on the team has that ability.

Reports indicate that Howard will meet with the Houston Rockets. The attractive player on that squad is obviously James Harden. But If I'm Dwight Howard I would rather play with Rajon Rondo an elite pass first PG. Howard has never had the luxury of playing with a top of the line PG. Both the Rockets ( 3 1st rounders 2014) and the Celtics have picks to use to make a deal.

The scuttlebutt I'm reading is that Rondo is being shopped and Danny wants to trade him for a chance at a lottery pick in 2014. I doubt Danny is that much of a gambler, trying to play to an inside straight when he already holds an ace with Rajon, but who really knows? I hope we keep Rajon. I simply love his work to win till he drops spirit.
