It seemed more then coincidential that the thread and pic was posted the morning after LA was killed by OKC. It's hard to believe that if I posted a pic like that after Boston lost to NJ or Washington at home, you wouldn't think it was antagonistic or mocking. My whole point in responding to this thread many posts ago was that I hear all the time 'This is a Celtics Forum/Board'. Then why the pic about the Lakers?
There are so many threads here about the refs, TNT, David Stern and even the game threads are loaded with comments about Boston players not getting 'the calls'.
There are very few here that will confront a ridiculous anti-Celtics bias post. That's fine, you don't have to, but don't try to censor me for doing so. When I question or confront it is bashing/trolling.
Going forward, I will assume that this is not just a Celtics forum and that we are free to post on any NBA/basketball subject.
To your last comment: this section of the forum is called, fittingly, "Hot Celtics and BASKETBALL topics". I'd say that you're fine to post on other topics in the NBA-- hell, there are plenty of non-celtics topics here-- like the one praising Joakim Noah, for example-- so I fail to see your point.
No one is trying to censor your legitimate concerns. We've all had conversations with you, and most of the time, your comments are met with other (though different) insightful comments from a different perspective. I suppose it would be crazy for me to say that you're never called a troll or basher, but all in all, the Lakers fans on this site are met with a lot of respect, and there's no reason you shouldn't fit this category. Lets just drop it, eh? Bury the hatchet, and find a picture of BBD crying, or something--anything!
NE,
Good luck trying to find a picture of 290# Glen Davis crying!
Oh, wait a second, never mind...

That picture is hilarious. The only thing that could have made it better is if Rudy Gay was the defernder, not Nelson.

Sam never went on vacation from this board. I've been reading every word. The reason I haven't weighed in (an apt term after eating so much in San Francisco) on this thread was that the whole thing seemed so absurd it appeared destined to flame itself out. It's ludicrous to realize something so obviously innocuous could invite such controversy. The obvious intent of gyso was not to bait Lakers fans but simply to introduce some levity.
Everyone who posts here understands that Celtics fans exercise our natural instincts to be fans. At times, we may be subjective; at times we may be objective. At times we may say negative things about the Celtics' opponents. In any of these cases, we're doing what comes naturally because this is a Celtics board.
A few friends who happen to be fans of other teams apparently come here to post because (1) they know we like and respect them as people, (2) they are willing to accept the fact that this is not a level playing table as far as team allegiance is concerned, and (3) despite any internal grating of teeth points 1 and 2 may cause, they're willing to deal with it because they enjoy the board content and they trust us not to bait them or insult them gratuitously.
And, if the give-and-take of board discussions should ever prove to be baiting or insulting, it's my responsibility as board moderator to handle the situation. Nothing remotely close to that situation was involved in the creation of this thread.
TJ, you're absolutely right in one respect. I welcome you as a poster on this board (within the rules of the board). In fact, I'm sorry we didn't have an opportunity to meet you at the party. BUT you may also remember that I sent you an early communication to the effect you might find it more comfortable not to post here if the tone of the board bothered you. I believe I mentioned that it was your choice. It still is.
Just don't expect this to be an objective board. It's a Celtics board. Don't be surprised if certain posts occur that bother you as a Lakers fan more than they would bother a Celtics fan. You're the person who has to monitor the thickness of your skin and the degree of your sensitivity. If a post is "over the top," I'm going to deal with it. Otherwise, you may assume it's within the bounds of propriety for purposes of this board. That's definitely the case with the intent of this thread. You may want to rethink your perspective on this one.

How do you insert a picture? I found one I'd like to include in a post, but I can't get it to copy and paste.

when you go to post a reply, right next (left of) to the button for "link", there is a button for "image". Click that, and copy and paste the URL.

Re: You create the caption
bobh,
Here is how I do it. First, you have to save the picture to your computer.
If the picture is saved on your computer, you can use the "Host an Image" button. Follow the directions to create the URL:
Upload a file, set the size to 1024 to make it big. Browse to get the file. Once you find the file, pick it and press Open. This will then take you back to the Upload box. Press Upload and three options are available. I use the bottom one, Image Url. Press Copy, shich copies it to your clipboard.
Once you have saved the URL to your computers clipboard, pick the Image button and paste the url in the box. Press OK and there it is.
Others may do it differently. There are a lot of steps this way, maybe others have easier procedures.

NES,
I understood that he got it. I kinda was hoping that one of you guys that have a easier way to make a URL of a picture would take pity on me and explain it.
Then I won't have to go around the barn to get in the front door.

Bam.
That way is pretty simple... no downloading, or uploading, or saving, or hosting
