Cowens would take Maxwell over Worthy and Rondo over Magic.

mrkleen,
not sure who you are referring to? but I'm quite positive they don't measure up as a front court to felton, the gun and hondo. lol

And that is about as relevant to this discussion as whether they match up to Huey, Duey and Louie. lol

Was probably Malone's best season....even with his lack of defensive production.

In case I forgot to mention it, Malone had many great seasons.
He finished in the top 10 of MVP Voting 14 years in a row.
Too bad he played with Mark Eaton and Byron Russell next to him instead of Robert Parish and Larry Bird.

Yeh,a few years with Bird and Parish up front. Should have been worth a ring or two or three.

Yeah, that John Stockton...he was a real slouch too.
Oh, and what happened in 2003 when Malone played with Kobe, Shaq, Gary Payton and mulcogiseng's buddy, Horace Grant?

Sorry I forgot to mention Dennis Johnson too. Maxwell, Ainge and Walton were pretty good players too.
In 2003 Karl was 40 years, blew out his knee and missed half the season.

Ah, so you are saying injuries impacted his ability to play his best and win a championship?
Funny how that same thing happened to Kevin McHale, yet a lot younger than 40 - and he STILL won 3 AND was a first ballot hall of famer.

No, being 40 years old impacted his ability to play his best.

Pierce kicked Kobes arss all over floor in 08,its a better comparison comparing those two than Kobe to Jordan who routinely won without the benefit of a great bigman and lead the league in scoring virtually every year.

Cow,
Why the heck would anyone be comparing Max and Worthy?
Max did a great job of supplying what the Celtics needed: a whirling dervish act in the lane at two positions plus the ability to guard great opponents such as Bernard King. Worthy did a great job of supplying what the Lakers needed: a greyhound to field long passes by Magic and cruise in for the scores.
Totally different players who were exposed to totally different contexts.

Re: JoJo White should he in the Hall
Cow and Others,
It's probably my fault for allowing this thread to get so far off-topic. I try to be relaxed about such things because, in normal conversation, it's natural for participants to digress from the original topic, as they hear something that reminds me of something else.
But, believe me, I'm not overlooking the fact that we sometimes seem to have an oil and water situation for one reason or another. We're watching the matter very closely, while trying not to be part of the problem.
For the moment, I do think everyone has had an opportunity to express his or her views on the various subjects of this thread; so, with apologies to JoJo, I'm going to lock the thread. If anyone wants to start another thread about Mr. White, it would be perfectly acceptable to me.
