CP3 is playing the point as good as anyone I have watched.dbrown4 wrote:Nice to see Giannis back on the court so quickly and able to contribute. They'll wake up and win G2. So far, CP3 is The Man!! The way the league is going, it looks like he is a vanishing breed or worse an anomaly. Hope every GM and coach wakes up and smells the coffee.

The Sun's get up and down. I love the tempo. Those players really run the floor. If the Bucks cannot slow them down they will not win.

CP3 is playing better than ever at 36, he’s making decisions faster and still controls the pace and always makes the right play. The Clipper years he may have over dribbled and dominated the ball too much. Booker and Crowder with off games and Suns still had big leads throughout game. Bucks perimeter defense is going to be really tested, Holliday can only cover one of Paul or Booker, not both.

Wow Suns just took the lead, the 2 guys making every play both ends giving them the lead was Bridges and Cam Johnson.

Wow great to see such a loud raucous crowd in Phoenix, while we don’t like a lot of technical things in this era about the game, this younger generation really goes ape sh.t over this game. Amazed when I see 10000 fans outside standing cheering, going nuts outside for 3 hours at certain venues.

Do not know if they will be cheering too long, this looks like another beat down. Giannis does not look good at all. Let looks like it is bothering him. I think this series is going to be 2-0 after tonight. They may have to go home and regroup

Not sure who I want to win. Suns are a good story and I’m mostly rooting for them, but Pat C. is with the Bucks and would love to see him win.
Guess I’ll just sit back and enjoy some good basketball.

Back to the game, great effort game from Giannis, he just kept on going right at them, shame he didn’t get enough help from Middleton and Holiday. Suns stars played really well, Paul and Booker is a stacked backcourt, historic even and Giannis showed what a dominant big he is in the paint. Booker with Paul were also really big was just too much for Bucks.

Re: Playoff Observations
Chalk this loss on to Middleton and Holiday. I think that this series will be a competitive series. I think that Bucks will win Game 3.
I just want to see a hard fought out Series. We get to see enough of skill display. I am hoping that we will also get to see character and will.

Yep, we're going 7 here. Bucks will have to learn the hard way what playing with fire will get you.
Didn't realize the odds got that long if you go 0-2. 7% chance Bucks win series per landofbasketball.com. 404 teams have won being up 2-0. 30 have won being down 0-2. That's worse against than pocket aces! Basically need 2-3 cards out of a standard deck of 52 cards. Not too good!!

Steve Bulpett @SteveBHoop
yesterday
There are more changes to come for the Celtics, but it's pure fact that the ball movement being displayed by the Suns is most certainly within their capabilities. Needed roster improvements aside, think of how much better they'd look simply with that kind of passing and cutting.
Bob
MY NOTE: When we watched Pop's Spurs move the ball we said "isn't that beautiful basketball. Why can't we play like that?". Now we're seeing another team play like that and we're repeating ourselves. The first step is to unglue the ball from Tatum's hands.

Re: Playoff Observations
So far this series definitely shows how much quicker and more athletic the Suns are over the Bucks.
The only chance the bucks have to get back in this thing is to turn this series into a meat grinder. As good as the Bucks have been on offense over the last few years they may not be able to win that way. They are not quick enough getting up and down. So we should expect to see a much more physical game 3 where the Bucks try to get into the Suns. The Suns are moving the basketball so well and remind me of the GSW.
It certainly throws a lot of shade on the Celtics in terms of their inability to share the basketball consistently and embrace the next pass mentality that is driving the Suns to their 1st title.

Right I had said the Bucks perimeter defense is going to be tested, other than Holiday, they have no defensive speed on the perimeter, Middleton and PJ Tucker are not good/fast enough on the perimeter. This is why we matched up so well on Milwaukee, Suns are built for this pace and space 3 point era. Middleton and Holiday are going to have to go for an efficient 30 each to get back in this series.

I think the Bucks should try to pound them inside more and just slow the tempo down a bit.
I do expect them to win game 3 but not the series.

Re: Playoff Observations
After some meditation, herein lies the range:
1) PHX puts the stranglehold on the series and finishes out the remaining 7% and gets the broom out, thoroughly befuddling MIL and possibly bringing back out the "fire" birds and reset button for the MIL organization. This would solidify and complete what we all saw start in the bubble that this team is the real deal with an old school point guard working his magic in a soon to be position-less league. There would be hope yet for us old schoolers!
2) Gentleman's Sweep. Just as powerful in its implications and probably just enough to save MIL from the nuclear option.
3) MIL wins the next two setting up a 3-game/best 2 out of 3 miniseries. This will help the NBA/ESPN/ABC by extending things for a few more games, 4 min to be exact. Everything would be copacetic in the organization world. I would rather have had Inside the NBA doing the Finals, but I digress!
4) Full-on Game 7. What all the basketball world wants. Nothing beats a Game 7 winning take all shoot out. Here's where the Bucks may have shot themselves in the foot. Home Court. Hopefully they will learn from the Clips about playing with fire and win the next 4 games and be done.
Still sticking with PHX in 7 although I've been thinking it may be done before then. PHX just doesn't make mistakes and once they have the lead they don't give it back up. A 10-point lead looks and feels like a 20-point lead. Even with CP3 turning it over a couple of times early on when MIL was ransacking him to get him to cough up the ball and disrupt the offense, Booker took over and made them pay.
MIL still likes to fly by the seat of their pants. Probably won't win a championship that way.
It was interesting to hear from all the NBA talk about having players with championship experience on their teams for the Finals, there isn't a one to be found on either of these teams...Did I hear that correctly?

Re: Playoff Observations
MIL might have to consider the only way to beat PHX is to never give them the lead. If that's the case, this series will be over real soon. Tonight should be interesting, though. At least they are starting earlier at 8:00pm.

P.S. BTW, only 4 teams have recovered from a 0-2 deficit in the Finals. Obviously more "other" playoff games/opportunities than Finals games, but nonetheless. We were one of them in 1969. 4 out of 73. (2020-1947). Odds not too good!!

That series was a joy!!!!! I will never forget it as long as I live. Never count a team as talented as Milwaukee out, but Middleton and Holiday better turn it on or it is over. Giannis was spectacular the other night, and they still lost, this is more than a one man game.

Giannis is so great and has flaws, but because of his skill, ferocity and length he is still incredibly great. He is a 7 foot version of Rondo.

Re: Playoff Observations
So Bucks won with Giannis going for another 40, his will and relentlessness is impressive, very KG like. Not sure if they pounded them more inside as last game he went off for 40 too. The difference was Holiday going 5-10 from 3 and Bobc33’s boy Pat C going 2-4 from 3. Bucks won and Middleton has yet to go off for 30 yet, he may be due next game, wouldn’t mind seeing Bucks take next game. There’s more fans outside cheering/watching than inside and those kids are having a blast!!! Wish I was young, would love to do that, but don’t know if I have the energy to stand for 3 hours now lol.

Very critical Game 4 ahead. I was expecting the Bucks to win Game 3. I expect Game 4 to be tight one.
Still rooting for a 7-games series.

Well, IMHBAO, tonight may be the night for the Bucks yet again. I find this game more critical than the G5's tied at 2-2. I'm going to go all in that Monty Williams has found the Kryptonite that will doom the Bucks. He doesn't want to go 7 games against what would be an inspired Bucks team at that point. Time to close the window and probably slam it shut. PHX goes up 3-1 tonight. Oz has spoken!!

And Bob does it again! I think the Bucks take this one, go back to phoenix and the Suns will there, and then take game 6 in Milwaukee for the title. Bucks will have to go to another level for this to go 7
