1:58 p.m. ET: The Indiana Pacers are finalizing a trade to send Torrey Craig to the Phoenix Suns for Jalen Smith and a future second-round pick, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Smith, a first-round pick in 2020, had his third-year option declined before the season, limiting what the Pacers can offer him in a contract this summer.

1:38 p.m. ET: The Boston Celtics are acquiring guard Derrick White in a trade from the San Antonio Spurs, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Romeo Langford, Josh Richardson and a top-4 protected 2022 first-round pick are going to San Antonio. The Spurs will also have rights to swap first-round picks with Boston in 2028.

This latest trade for White, aside from the other obvious questions, seems to leave us with kind of a thin roster. We lose Bol and Dozier to Orlando and JRich and Romeo to SAS. We get White. That leaves us with 14, including 2 2-ways. Isn't that about the bare min? What else might be coming?

Do we now have 3 combo guards who can't shoot (White, Schroder, and Smart)? Is there something else coming?

SCOUTING REPORT
His backcourt skill-set is very well-rounded: he can score capably (either penetrating to the basket or shooting from the arc), is a heads-up distributor who looks for his teammates, and he has good length and instincts for defense. Versatile: boasts enough size and skill to play regularly at either point guard or shooting guard. A bit of a late bloomer and may not have significant development upside. Sometimes forces things on the offensive end, either shooting too quickly or trying to push the ball into traffic. While athletic he too often settles for floaters and off-balance layups rather than going hard to the hole.

Long Range Potential: Smooth, skilled combo guard with rotational tools.

There is no doubt more is coming. White and Smart together is a great combination of defense and distributing, but the roster is now imbalanced

We weren't expecting any big deals, and we didn't get one.

Hate to lose Richardson though, not to mention the draft pick, and only to get a player from the FBI witness protection program back in return.

I know there's a desire to dump salary in order to be flexible, but this is an odd looking deal. They've got about a half hour to surprise us with something more.

I think maybe Ainge has lost it. What's that? Stevens? Not the same guy? Could've fooled me.

I am OK to see Josh Richardson go. A ponderous player when Udoka wants to play with pace. From what I remember seeing, White plays with speed and reasonable decision making.

Langford, your potential was tantalizing. But only one of you and Nesmith could stay. Good luck!

The starting 5 is intact. So, effectively, White replaces Richardson in the rotation? Perhaps, this will further open up lanes for Schroder.

Plus a first? That one hurts but Brad must see White as fitting very well. If so, the Celts got better for this season.

We get something for Schroder, but we send out Kanter/Freedom as well. And then the Rockets cut him to save money.

Theis gives a little front court depth to replace Freedom.

Must be they want to sign someone after the trade deadline expires.

Still shaking my head over that draft pick getting sent out in the deal for that guy whose picture is on the side of my milk carton. Seems like it should have been an un-necessary part of the trade.
