Marcus and Baseball update

Seeing how the north country is rockin a bit so is the lefty too.

Marcus's teams are a combined 13-2. He is pitching very well (ERA about 1.00 and now has actually used his curveball some and it is one tough pitch ( i know I'm the experimental catcher) He's also hitting well over .500 with 15 RBI's in the 15 games.

The other day he lost a tough 2-1 decision to a very good Syracuse select team. He walked the lead off batter and had him picked off but the kid beat the relay to secon. A ground ball single followed putting runners on the corners, The runner stole second then a single score 2. After that tough start he slamed the door shut and retires the next 15 in a row. A kid hit a triple to start the 6th and when the ball got past the thirdbaseman the kid tried to score but Marcus was where he should be backing up third, he retrieved the throw and then nailed the kid at the plate. No one else reached base the rest of the game but we couldn't score anymore either.

Hope there is no tusnami with the quake off lake Ontario, as the kids are at the beach!!! (not sure if its possible or not!)

Hate to say it, but it looks like Marcus is still being plagued by a bunch of lousy defenders. No excuse for not throwing a picked off player at second base out.

Actually this team is playing well. The pickoff was a bit Marcus's fault to as he threw a bit slow to first and the firstbaseman was just a bit hesitant only for a fraction of a second in getting it to second. Plus the kid from syracuse broke and kept going and was quite fast to boot. And it was a close play but he probably was safe.

The team has made very few errors. In this game Marcus only struck out 2 and there was really only one error and that was the play at third that he backed up.

And above all this he has made a bunch of new friends on this team and that stuff can last a lifetime!!
