It is a demotion. He is not getting any minutes. At least he can get reps up there in Maine.

No surprise. From the time they signed him, you had to figure he'd spend some time in Maine. At least he'll get to play. Tacko and Poirier are going to make an interesting tandem. Sure would be fun to go to a Red Claws game!

VP will not be on the team next year unless Kanter walks. There is no time or space for a regular rotation of 4 centers.

Right loved watching the McHales, Moses, Kareem, Hakeem, later guys like Barkley and Karl Malone, and earlier Cowens, the Big E, Willis Reed all battle in the paint, all had different styles and nuances....and didn’t know Poirer could do that simple drop step move.

Cow, I usually see them twice a year. They'll be coming down i January to go to Disney, then I will probably go up in March hopefully to do a little skiing and see Tacko and Tremont.

I don't get it. He looks good. Why isn't he getting minutes in Boston?

For what it's worth RWill is currently listed as OUT for the Cleveland game, so maybe Poirier will get a minute or two.

It does not really matter if he plays or sits.

VP has zero future playing in Boston. This team has no time to try and develop a 25 year old player who's position overlaps his competition. If two guys go down then his reserve status moves up a notch.

If he was not on this team no one would miss him.

remember Bob, lots of players look good in the D-League. but most of them are at best scrubs in the NBA.

Poirier may yet find his spot here, but obviously he;s going to have to work hard and gain the trust of the coaching staff more.

Anything's possible. Poirier may still win the hearts of reluctant fans.

Last season, my son-in-law (the Knicks fan) didn't even want to discuss Wannamaker as a legit NBA player. Some folks truly believe that if a player is not a product of the US college system or is not drafted, they will never become an NBA player.

I still hold out hope for Poirier. I would bet the Celtics management do as well.
