3 out of 4. You are missing the leader of the pack.

OK. As long as I've known you... and your hints, leader of the pack could only be referring to a long-time point guard...
Cousy?

Cousy?
Correct.
Cousy leads (14 seasons), followed by Bird (13), then Pierce (11) and lastly, Hondo (10).

Tommy won 8 championships, his career was cut short by foot problems

Rosalie,
Correct.
8 Championships, an often ignored fact when player comparisons are being discussed.
Thanks for playing.

Rosalie,
Yes. Sam Jones. He scored 51 points against Detroit on October 29, 1965.
Thanks for playing.

Re: Boston Celtics 2020 Daily Sports Calendar
Sam Jones was one of the best shooters I ever watched. I just loved him. As you might remember, our Sam arranged for Sam to call me after I had my open heart surgery. It was the thrill of a lifetime, and he was such a kind sweet man.
Your last question made me laugh as you put a clue in there that, unless you watched Sam in that time, you would not know. I was in the hospital for 7 weeks in Cambridge recouperating and the nurses became aware of my love of the Celtics because I wore Celtic tshirts given out if you attended playoff games. I had a bunch of them. There was a gentleman in the rehab whose daughter worked in the offices of the Celtics. The nurses told him about me and we bumped into each other in the rehab room every now and then. He had a 2008 championship ring that the Celtics management had given to workers that year. He was so proud of it.
Anyway......after this long story, he thought he could stump me. He asked what Sam Jones used to say to Wilt when he came to block his shot all the time. I answered him 'TOO LATE"
He laughed when he realized I wasn't just blowing smoke about being a die hard fan.
So when I saw your post, that little clue made me laugh.
Just another boring story of someone who is dying for this season to get rolling!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Gyso, you brought a smile to my face!!!

Re: Boston Celtics 2020 Daily Sports Calendar
Rosalie,
You're entirely welcome.
All the things I read about Sam Jones makes me wonder, why isn't he at least in the conversation for his inclusion in the top greatest Celtics players of all time? There are so many great Celtics players from the past, he often-times is the forgotten one.
Second only to GOAT Bill Russell in championships, first Celtics player to score over 50 points, etc.
