And you thought the prices at Philz Coffee was exorbitant…
Jimmy Butler is running a coffee shop out of his hotel room on the Walt Disney World Resort campus — at $20 a cup. Butler joked about this with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols on “The Jump” a while back, saying it was impossible to get a good cup on the NBA restart campus, so he was taking matters into his own hands. It turns out he was not kidding. Teammate Myers Leonard outed him on social media.

blocked out the room number on the off chance it’s why this got deleted but JIMMY BUTLER’S BUBBLE COFFEE SHOP I AM LOSING IT
Ira Winderman at the Sun-Sentinel has a good collection of photos as well as the story.

So apparently Jimmy Butler wasn't kidding about the up-charge for the use of his French Press at Disney. (From Meyers Leonard's Twitter):
Butler’s agent confirmed all this and joked about trying to get quality coffee beans through the quarantine.

100 pct. We are building tunnels to get the beans into the bubble like El Chappo.
Why $20 a cup? Supply and demand. It’s that simple. If there’s no good coffee on the NBA restart campus and he can provide one, then he can charge whatever the market will pay. Apparently he thinks that’s $20 a cup — regardless of size.
It’s not about the money: Butler signed a four-year, $140 million contract with the Heat this offseason.
Butler will need all the caffeine matched up against T.J. Warren and the Pacers in the first round.

Lonzo Ball may be included in trade talks with Pelicans this off-season, says Jay Williams
USA TODAY Sports
August 21, 2020, 9:00 PM PDT
More rumors began circulating on Friday that Lonzo Ball may be included in trade talks this off-season after Jay Williams reported as such on his radio show. I’m hearing things around New Orleans that Lonzo may be used as a trading asset in New Orleans…, Jay Williams of ESPN. For a variety of reasons, Ball will likely not be traded. But if there was an argument to be made as to why the Pelicans would trade Ball, it would be based largely around his impending free agency
bob
MY NOTE: Nothing against Lonzo, he seems like a decent kid with a complete asshole of a father, but he's looking like a #2 bust. The Pelicans have 30 year old Jrue Holiday, 36 year old JJ Redick, E'taun Moore (yep, he's still in the league, going on 9 years. That's a good career) that have more experience and only Holiday of those 3 players is a point guard. There are younger players than Ball that might play point. What does it say about Lonzo that he might get moved when the depth behind him is all younger than him and the player ahead of him is 30 years old?

Re: Bubble Talk
Where are they drafting? You don't possibly think they would be stupid enough to trade him and draft his brother??? Talk about jumping from the fire pan into the fire. Could they be trading up for 1 or 2 pick? This draft does not seem to be too heavy with excellent players so it has to be a good veteran, BEN SIMMONS????????????????????

Chris Forsberg @ChrisForsberg_

Brad Stevens said Gordon Hayward left the bubble on Friday. Plan is for him to return to Orlando when he’s closer to a return to action.
bob
MY NOTE: Makes sense, as long as he continues with his rehab (which we all know he will). He was going to leave the bubble for the birth of his child, might as well spend more time with his family while it doesn't matter to the team.

You'll get over it when he has his child, gets back into the bubble, and shares in our victory over the Bucks.

Luka beats clips at the buzzer.
43 points 17 rebounds and 13 assits. Pretty impressive triple double

So happy for Luka. I hope the Mavs do upset the Clips. They won this game without Porzingus too.
Re: Bubble Talk
GH may not be of much use even if he gets back. We really could use him against the Raptors.worcester wrote:You'll get over it when he has his child, gets back into the bubble, and shares in our victory over the Bucks.
It takes time to get into basketball shape and find your rhythm. Danny should have added a vet going into this knowing GH could not be there fulltime.
His injury just makes things harder.
Now lets go beat the Raptors who also completed a sweep and dropped 150 on the Nets.

What's PG's nickname? "Playoff Paul" or something? That might need to change if things do not improve! Maybe Playout Paul.

This off time is gonna be good for Blazers and Mavs, giving their star players extra time to heal. Would love to see more games in each of those series....

Damian Lillard has left the bubble due to his knee injury.
He is done for the season.

Yep, tj. G2 vs. LAL was the beginning of the end of the POR run. They did dazzle us and have their place in the bubble and making it special. But now its time for the Big Boys, the heavyweights, to get on with the business at hand. DLill leaving the bubble is poetic to showing POR is done.

Portland definitely scared me going into this series, especially after the disaster the Lakers had in game 1.
The Lakers had a great game plan against Lillard and McCollum, especially on pick and roll and 3 point line defense.
The Clippers are in my opinion the best team in the West if they put it all together.
It's a pretty wide open race for the Championship.
I think the Lakers, Clippers, Bucks, Toronto and Boston all have a pretty even chance at winning the title.
