Yeah, the Celtics would have to have a major disaster to not give up a 1st rounder in that Brogdon trade. We’ll just hope in ‘23 it’s the last pick of the 1st round.

MY NOTE:  All this looks very good.  Brad is adjusting Brogdon's perspective, perhaps appropriately, and Brogdon is saying all the right things about having his perspective being adjusted.  We had one of the best starting 5s in the league.  We still do, Brad hasn't moved any of them (let's hope he doesn't suddenly become a crazy man and trade Jaylen + gut our team for KD).  Our weakness was depth.  Well, when you're a good team good depth will find you.  That's what happened in 2008, that's what happened for LeBron and DWade in Miami.  The Ring Wraiths will flow to an opportunity to win a ring.  Brad traded for Brogdon but Gallinari is a Ring Wraith, one that would not have signed with us last year.

Brogdon is an NBA starter, even if he isn't starting.  White is an NBA starter, even if he isn't starting.  Derrick White has started in 159 of the 263 NBA games he has played in.  When you consider he played in 17 games in his rookie year for Pop, and started none of them, and played 26 games for us and only started in 4 of them (4 starts in those 43 games) it's clear that he was the acknowledged starting point guard for Pop, and that says a lot.  Gallinari isn't a regular starter anymore but he did start 18 games last year for Atlanta.  

If you forget the players who came (e.g. Josh, Schroder) and left and just look at where we are now from where we started when Brad took over for Danny he has done a fabulous job.  Brad replaced Kemba with Al.  That ended up being HUGE.  On February 10th he traded for White.  Brad has improved our bench immensely with the additions of Derrick White, Malcolm Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari in just the last 6 months, and it only cost us Josh, Theis, Romeo and some picks we don't need.  Josh was a loss, and I love Theis, but this is highway robbery.  Brad traded some decent rotation players and added three starters, two through trades and the third because of the impact of his trades.

We need a decent 3rd big. I've stated my preference for a veteran but, wherever he comes from, he has to be able to give us 700-1000 decent minutes. We get him, and we're seeing them working out in Vegas and elsewhere, and we are very good.
