The Heat simply do not have the assets. Portland has no use for herro. Dame will have to expand his acceptable destination if he really wants out of Portland. His timing is bad. I hope Boston will never be on his good list.
I would not have a problem signing Wall to a one year deal as long as it does not push us past the 2nd apron. If the Celtics are not willing to spend to keep Grant why should they do it for a BU, BU injury prone PG.
Why, because of what it might cost us or … you just don’t want him anywhere near Causeway St. on a regular basis and would rather have a Bu Bu injury prone Wall cuz he’s cheap and still may have a few minutes of “Bad mutha ker” left in him?
Btw, I love to bar b que and up to a month or so ago I owned about 4-5 favorite Aprons to alternate between Q sessions.
Since then I’ve gotten Rid of all but 1.
See where I’m going? No?
I’m sick and tired of hearing about a damn ( and Dame) 2nd Apron!
Maybe I’ll just trash the last one I own and start Q ing Buck naked.
The neighbors might not be thrilled about it but the neighbors 24 yr old phat and all that baby girl would love it.
I think…..

A former NBA player who is attempting a comeback (and whose name is not John Wall) is Glenn Robinson III. He is holding a workout in Vegas and the Celtics have expressed interest in attending.

Did he get injured? Or just dropped by teams he was with? IT is also trying to hold one of these workouts for a group of teams. Wonder if Kemba will try.

With all the high quality defensive players on the Celts, IT of old may actually have worked well with this 2023 lineup.

The 10 best remaining free agents the Boston Celtics can sign

The Boston Celtics are coming off a disappointing campaign that ended in elimination by the Miami Heat in the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals just when Boston hoped to get back to the NBA Finals. Since then, team president Brad Stevens has shaken up the roster by bringing on star big man Kristaps Porzingis while letting go of Marcus Smart and Grant Williams.
The team has made depth signings with Oshae Brissett and Dalano Banton, but the Celtics still need to address a few key areas. Chief among them is a point guard able to step into a bigger role if needed, but Boston now also needs depth at the guard, wing, forward, and big positions as well with between one and three roster spots pending team decisions on non-guaranteed players.
Let’s take a look at some of the best remaining free agents who the Celtics could consider signing to such an end.
Terence Davis - guard
2022-23 averages: 6.7 pts, 2.2 rebs, 1.0 asts, 42.3 FG%, 36.6% FG3%
Austin Rivers - guard
2022-23 averages: 4.9 pts, 1.6 rebs, 1.4 asts, 43.5% FG%, 35.0% FG3%
Javonte Green - wing
2022-23 averages: 5.2 pts, 2.8 rebs, 56.5% FG%, 37.1% FG3%
Hamidou Diallo - wing
2022-23 averages: 9.3 pts, 3.5 rebs, 1.0 asts, 57.3% FG%, 23.8% FG3%
Stanley Johnson - forward
2022-23 averages: 5.8 pts, 3.2 rebs, 2.2 asts, 53.3% FG%, 45.0% FG3%
Justice Winslow - forward
2022-23 averages: 6.8 pts, 5.0 rebs, 3.4 asts, 40.9% FG%, 31.1% FG3%
JaMychal Green - forward
2022-23 averages: 6.4 pts, 3.6 rebs, 54.0% FG%, 37.8% FG3%
Darius Bazley - big
2022-23 averages: 5.2 pts, 3.2 rebs, 45.4% FG%, 37.7% FG3%
Bismack Biyombo - big
2022-23 averages: 4.3 pts, 4.3 rebs, 1.4 bpg, 57.8% FG%
Sandro Mamukelashvili - big
2022-23 averages: 6.1 pts, 4.3 rebs, 1.4 asts, 42.2 FG%, 30.3 FG3%

MY NOTE: I think I would lose my voice screaming "BisMAAckkk biYOMMMMBOOOOOO!!!" for 82 games. Where does Brad see our need? Well, he said "wing". That would eliminate Green (who isn't what he used to be but might be good for a 5th big), Bazley (whose minutes have steadily declined year-to-year), The Big Mamu (whose stats don't look bad, actually) and "you know who". Terence Davis is a 6'4" guard who isn't a real floor general, so I'm thinking we're good there. Austin Rivers grew up in Boston because that's where his father's job was. I don't know how much he has left in the tank. He's only a few weeks away from his 31st birthday, so he's not that old, but his productivity is, and really always has been, underwhelming. He has always been a "score first, pass second" player, and I'm still not giving up on the dream of landing a floor general. Javonte is coming off an injury, so there's a question mark there. Signing him would definitely make Jayson happy, they're like best friends. IF Javonte's healthy he's a player that will play hard, won't demand much and doesn't try to do more than he can do. He doesn't beat himself. Hamidou Diallo is from Flushing, Queens. He played at John Bowne High School. Speaking as a graduate of Bayside High School that does not endear him to me, but I'm willing to set blood feuds aside for the good of the Celtics. I see Diallo as another Terence Davis. Neither a great scorer, nor a great passer, nor a great defender but isn't a liability. Stanley Johnson was a waste of a #8 pick, a career underachiever. I've never been a big fan of Winslow. Danny lusted after him, not me. He came into the league being a big defensive expert and weak on offense. He's not an elite defender and his offense is still weak and he's 27 and has been in the league 8 years.
Out of this list, if we have to go with a wing, I'd probably go with Javonte if he can pass the physical. Given my choice, of course, I want a floor general. Can IT still play? He's 34 1/2 and hasn't played in 2 years but it'd be a "feel good" story and I'd get my floor general even if he doesn't play more 500 minutes.

Re: Free Agency 2023
Malcolm Brogdon is the mystery. What is his prognosis? If he’s ready, I think we need one more good PG behind White, Brogdon, and…I love Pritchard’s attitude and he can be a spark plug, but too often on defense he’s targeted by good teams who pass until Pritchard’s man goes one-on-one, because he’s short. Should Brogdon go down, or worse, White, the loss of Smart might be devastating. If White improves as much year-to-year as he did from two years ago, we’ll have a great starting line up. With Lillard’s reported attitude toward coming to Boston, I get a Kyrie vibe. Let’s keep shopping. hawk

From what I have read and heard from the Celtics, they believe MB will be ready to play by opening night. MB opted not to have surgery based on both the Celtics and his own Dr's recommendation. I am a bit nervous because I remember that RW did not get his 2nd surgery earlier enough after the playoffs last year and it kept him out until the middle of December. If MB status is not favorable to open the season, I think that Brad will add a PG to the roster (add on or trade depending on the size of their roster)
In other words, I do not think that Brad will act preemptively.

Re: Free Agency 2023
Whatever is going on, if anything, with roster moves, is in a quiet zone.
I read there was interest in Austin Rivers, but I’m not sure how accurate that is.
On that list, in Bob’s post, I would go with Stanley Johnson, although I still think we need at least one more big. On paper, it looks like we have a number of bigs. In the trainers room, I hope those bigs are physically capable all season.

Any addition will keep the C's under the dreaded 2nd apron.
who would be the best 3/4 of the top FA's still available?

Spotrac with a complete list of Free agents already signed and those that are available.
I see that Romeo Langford is on the available list. A lot of NBA careers are about to come to an end

I like that there are Tiers assigned to the players, like Starter, Rotation and Fringe.
IMO, Fringe needs to be split up into two tiers:
1. Fringe
2. Bi 'Eee!! (waves)

I'm not sure what that is.
I heard it on a commercial (I think) and lately, my 2-year old granddaughter says it. Hi 'Eee and Bi 'Eee. She waves, smiles and says Hi 'Eee (hello) when she walks into a room and someone new is there. She cries a little on Bi 'Eee (goodbye) when Janie and I go to leave. She is wicked cute. They used to live 2 hours away, they moved closer, and now it is less than an hour to see them.

Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes have a podcast called Smart-Less, and they close every show by saying Bi- Yee! They just got paid $80 Million for the podcast which is basically them talking to each other and friends.
